Was gonna try this stuff

I got my shipment of this stuff and poured it in and around the drains in both bathrooms, kitchen sink, and shower.

The trap I put in the kitchen is catching a ton of them.... 3 more on the edge of the container this morning doing their shimmy towards the water/death.

I am hoping they are the last of the hatchlings...

I also replaced my old/dirty garbage can in my kitchen as another preventative measure.

I wonder if this is similar to the trap method I am using.... they have you combine water, apple cider vinegar, sugar, and a bit of dish soap in a container.

According to what I read, the smell of the ACV attracts them.... the sugar makes them want to go into the water.... the dish soap kills them.

Seems to be working well right now.

I just made a batch of this. No idea what amounts of each to use though.

?

Well IT DIDN'T WORK! Didn't catch one.

Will google trapping with vinegar.

The first one I made also didn't work... I think you need to use like as much ACV as water.

And I think it needs to be within range of the drain the flies are coming in/out of.

Idk the 2nd one I did in my kitchen is catching tons....

You didn't properly establish your dominance over your domain when you initially got your house is my guess. Here is what you need to do.

1. Urinate in every doorway, drain, window and crevice in your home.

2. Dance around naked with blood and shit smeared on your face.

3. Kill a wild boar and offer it as a sacrifice to the Gods.

Do that and problem solved. Mind you I haven't tried it because I live on the 19 floor so never had a problem with insects getting that high up but I heard it works for lower dwellings.

May be a good idea to get the sewer line checked for breaks.

With the cleaning of the drain, might be a better idea to get a drain pipe brush and add some elbow grease to a mixture of vinegar and baking soda. Then pour a whole lot of real hot water down there. Repeat same cleaning procedure, using the brush to get along the sides of the drain pipe. Let that sit over night and then put a lot more hot water down the drain in the morning.

He's done all of those except for killing a boar. And he can't even kill a Tater.

Update:

So my neighbors are remodeling their kitchen and half-bath downstairs and started getting drain flies.

They have been getting backup into their drain in the utility closet in the garage from the sewer.

Apparently guys came out and snaked it as far as they could, but it is still clogged up.

So the drain flies are not mah fault!

Did you clog the sewer with pot stickers?
