I know a lot of guys were big on Dri when he came out of college. Our return game sucks. Sign him? Thoughts?

ROTOWORLD: Steelers waived RB Dri Archer.

It's a major admission of defeat on Archer, whom the Steelers made the No. 97 overall pick of last year's draft after he posted the Combine's fastest 40 time (4.26). Despite the sprinter's speed, Archer couldn't find a position on offense, and failed to make an impact on special teams. His wheels will earn him a look elsewhere, but the arrow is pointing down for the 5-foot-8 NFL sophomore. Nov 5 - 4:39 PM

Man I made the mistake of drafting this guy on my fantasy team this year. I expected him to blow up his second year. I don't know what went wrong there, but it's a shame because he's got some pretty good college footage. In fact, I hadn't watched anyone look that much faster than his competition in college since Chris Johnson.

He is a guy I had hoped the Bears would get in a later round last year. Thought he could be deployed in a Randall Cobb-esque manner catching, rushing, and returning or sort of what everyone wanted Hester to be, an electric KR/PR that got a few looks on offense to change things up.

**** Kent State.

I think he's too svelte to really make impact plays in the NFL.

Pretty much this. Make him a returner/WR and coach him up. I don't think he's that good out of the backfield because he can be arm tackled and why he's cut but here's a guy to use on an end around.

Generally you want to sign players who are better than the ones you have, not worse.

Or have potential to be if used correctly. It's not like we don't have spots on the PS or even active roster to take a closer look for a couple weeks. This O could use somebody to get behind the secondary and keep the safeties honest. We also need more speed on KOs. He may not be that guy but it's not a bad test drive.

Bring him in for a try out we need return help, and you court give home a few snaps on offense to bring a deep threat to the team.

This. There is no risk in kicking the tires. Return help is needed and if he can spread the defense then, o.k., a few snaps might be o.k., too. You can't teach height or speed!

Deep threat?

Spread the defense?

Isn't this kid a running back?
He runs a 4.26 and did a little of everything in college. He had 325 rushes 99 catches and 51 KR's in college. He wasnt worth the third Pitt used on him, as he will never be more than a KR / gadget guy, but the speed and highlights are enticing.

A RB needy team cuts him for a returner, hmmmmm.

CCS logic = sign him cause he's a combine beast.
