I can and I have. Only with 1080p plasma screens though. LCDs are ass.
I have tested extensively and cant tell the difference.
BTW, the new Sony 4K pixel LCD is the finest tv ever made. Blows away any plasma

Sonly 4k LCD is still just an LCD. Contrast ratio, artifacts, colors, motion resolution, and blacks are still not up to the plasma levels. Only thing going for it is if you want a gigantic TV that you can sit 2 feet away from.

OTA HD rules, plasmas rock. Wait for OLED. That's the best technology.

Nonsense. Unless you have actually seen 4K content on this 4K resolution set you don't know what you are talking about. The detail and blacks are out of this world and nothing commercially available comes close. I saw no motion or artifact issues

I have been through the plasma/LCD wars for nearly 10 years and had to listen to insufferable Kuro bigots boasting about their soft image, yellow tint plasmas. I don't think there is a sane person in the world that could sit in front of the Sony 4K and the current Pioneer plasma and choose the plasma. Go to Best Buy and see the demo, it will blow you away.

Oh and they have been talking OLED for 7 years, so much so that the AVSForum shut down all threads related to this pipe dream

They had OLEDs and 4K LCDs at the CES. Even Sony had a 4K OLED. They know 4k LCDs is just a place holder until OLEDs become available in larger sets. It's not a pipe dream.

Many, including CNET call 4K LCDs a waste and the OLEDs breathtaking. 4k is just an increase in resolution. It isn't breakthrough technology. So go ahead and buy a 100 inch TV so you can sit 3 feet away from it.

The most important aspects of picture quality are (in order): 1) contrast ratio, 2) color saturation, 3) color accuracy, 4) resolution

LCDs 4k or even 8k still lag behind in 1, 2, and 3. You are trying to squeeze water out of a rock with LCDs in 1, 2, and 3. The difference you saw was probably a 4k LCD hooked up with HDMI and a 1080p hooked up with composite. They probably Law and Order on instead of sports so you couldn't see the motion.

I'd rather watch TV on this 11 incher OLED than on a 4k lcd.

OLED Technology will catch up in size. There are already larger monitors available.
