And this gem just in from the Trib site:

The gist of which is: "Would you keep playing if you were missing teeth?" - which is a little hilarious because I figure most people that respond or read that story probably can't even ice skate -let alone have ever played hockey- let alone get paid to play it -- how exactly do you relate to someone that in involved in hockey on that level?
I got a toothloss story- didn't happen to me, but I saw it at an ice rink in KC when I was playing for some really low level rec league. A guy (he was like 2nd banana at a family run liquor store chain), decided he was going to go all gung ho and look "badassed" and remove his faceshield. ... now again, this is KC and in a low level rec league - so (in my mind) a normal person shouldn't probably care less... later that same night during a gam, the guy took a puck to the mouth and lost some teeth.
Now, I don't really care how "cool" it looks in a rec league to play without any sort of face protection ( for the record I use a cage) ... I am not losing teeth for some stupid rec league -so I don't know the answer if I would play on - I wouldn't be in that position in the first place ...
but man, asking the question: "would you play on?" - now that is hilarious. :bowrofl:
