Two of the NBA's leading scorers last season -- Dwyane Wade of the Miami Heat and Danny Granger of the Indiana Pacers – believe the Bulls should have tried their best to retain free agent guard Ben Gordon before he agreed to terms with Detroit.
"Ben is one of the best scorers in our league," said Wade, who led the NBA with a 30.2 average last season. "He is one of those players who is very rare."
Gordon led the Bulls with 20.7 ppg last season and a 24.3 average in the playoffs.
"Ben Gordon is unique," said Granger, a 6-foot-8-inch small forward who averaged 25.8 ppg for the Pacers. (CQ) "He is under-sized for the shooting guard position. But he can score with the best of them. That always can be used on any team. I compare him a lot to Jason Terry [of the Dallas Mavericks].

I know Wade was hoping to get to play with Ben Gordon next year, but the cards didn't stack Miami's way. With the cap shrinking instead of growing, Miami's expected cap space evaporated, so they had no money to sign Gordon. Riley tried his best to get Gordon for Wade last summer, but couldn't get the Bulls to bite.
