Well, right now he has a defensive consultant Phil Snow who helps him put together the defensive game plan. You could keep him in that role or move him to DC with Flus still calling plays.
That would seem like it would be the best idea, the whole don't fix what ain't broke thing. Hopefully something like that happens and this defense can continue to get better.

They were the worst defense in the universe last year and while they actually resemble a strength for this team right now, they still have a ways to go. Hopefully, Flus doesn't put a wrench in this thing by removing himself from play calling duties if he stays.

I really don't get why some folks here keep wondering who the DC will be here and so on. Who gives a crap if they don't even get one? We ALREADY have one and his name is Flus! Why can't a coach call the damn plays if he understands how to read an O? Seriously, that's why he was hired... because HE was a good DC. If the result means they build a good D and keep games competitive, then lets ride with that and focus on how to fix the trashy O.

Some fans here get a kick out of new hires and want one every single year. Get over it folks, what Flus has done the past few weeks and hearing multiple players give him props is something you should all be happy about.
