Agreed - and in fact, I'd incentivize winning with Fields by extending him to the same length as Matts contract and let him know if there's going to be a new QB, Matt isn't going to be around to see it...

This is the key to the whole thing for me....

DO NOT give Eberflus a new QB to scapegoat/ruin...If you draft a new QB it needs to be for a new staff.

Having said that, the defense had played a little better the past 4-5 weeks than previously. If he can keep that improving I could stomach another year.

There is no way in hell you give him a new QB though....which means the Bears might do it.

Honestly the whole concept of keeping Matt Eberflus nauseates me. The fact that he's unwilling to take any blame or show any leadership in post-game pressers but instead throws it right back at the players' faces absolutely disgusts me.

But the truth of it is, the mccaskeys have been such a horrible ownership group that most of us are expecting something stupid and disastrous as this so we are coming up with ways to minimize the damage.

I can’t be the only one getting the feeling that Eberflus will probably stick around next year. It just seems like a McCaskey move. Improving from 3 wins to 5 wins will make those morons think the team is headed in the right direction. Winning is good and all but if you look at the big picture...
