So do we have three legitimate core pieces with these guys? All three have shown glimpses of high level play. It would be nice to see them put it all together and be apart of this thing going forward. It's early but it looks like they possess the combination of talent and instinct to play -- something a guy like Bostic never had. You need both to make in the NFL.

What are your expectations for all three guys? I think they are legit.

I'm not sure Jones is that consistent on showing us "glimpses" to be honest. Eddie and Ego... even Sutton have stood out more to me in their respective positions. I just think the whole LB crew is very mediocre at this point, as it has been for a few years now with all the juggling.

I need to see more from Jones, i 'm not convinced he a longterm answer. Goldman and Ferguson look like foundation pieces. I'd also add Amos in there. He's looked good. Along with McPhee and Jenkins, the Bears have some potential longterm building blocks on defense. With Fuller's struggles and Ball and Porter being older, Corner looks like the biggest hole going forward.

Ego, Goldman, Sutton, Jenkins, Amos have me excited for the future.

Never thought I'd say this...but I'm higher on McClellin than Jones at this point, but I think ILB is the #1 weakness on the team at this point. Even more so than corner.

Jones has been pretty bad. He's not even really "flashing" anymore.

Right, Sutton too.

Inside backer and Corner are the big question marks. McClellin looks like he's found a home, though he still doesn't look close to being worth where he was picked. Decent is better then he's been, but we'll see if it's enough to land him a 2nd contract with the Bears.

Still have a long way to go, but there are definitely some good things brewing on defense.

It's all about the defensive coordinator molding them into a unit. With almost the same guys as last year it is very difficult to run on the Bears this year. Last year it was a joke to run on the Bears. Its not the parts, but the sum of the parts.

I think goldman and Jenkins are good core pieces not sold on ego being core and jones is average to below average

Goldman
Ferguson
Sutton
Jenkins

Those DLmen have me very excited, and the oldest one is 26.

Jones has not been great.

Yep, agree with all that. DL looks very promising. ILB not so much.

Inside backer and Corner are the big question marks.

Probably the two weakest positions on the football team.

well, and i'd say Safety, too, though Amos is showing potential, at least in run support.

Add in 26 year old McPhee off the edge and the Bears have some nice young pieces up front. Need to address the other OLB spot and most of the back end. Both ILB spots could use an upgrade as could the corners. I like Amos thus far however.

Amos looks like he might have a nice future, though they still need to draft another good safety. I don't think there's a CB or ILB on the roster that's good enough to be considered a future long term starter when this defense is good. I think these two position lag significantly behind any other position on the roster, not just the defense.

However, I do think that if they can get a couple of young talented pieces at these positions, the defense is looking very promising. You can see the improvements week to week already. They've done a great job of getting younger and better, especially with the front 5, and with Fangio at the helm I'm pretty optimistic.

Jones hasn't impressed me at all this year. I had him starting next year, but at this point, he is a backup for me.

Yes he was. Bostic and Greene certainly didn't help either. In back to back rounds...
