Jackson was coming off a probowl year. I think it was tough to guess that he would get paid and stop playing.
Trevathan was the worst for me because we had our choice of ILBs and overpaid the worst one.
Yeah Eddie was playing like the next great FS in the NFL so can't hate on Pace for that one. Only @Anytime23 and his losers can hate on that one.

If Literally special meaning I made over 2 million in wealth off of literally five thousand in dollars I made by cleaning pools and roofing and landscaping dollars then investing in crypto and metaverse technologies and then buying myselve a down town condo and then another condo down the hall from my condo for my mom then yes I am special and if that means anything in this meaningless world that means anyone can be special if they belief in themselfs and work hard towards goals that are benefitting towards more than themselfs. Sorry that this makes you mad and want to desire to make fun of me but I don't care because this is my story to literally write and you are just a foot-note of hatred because you have hate inside of your heart.

Is there even one person that can say they called it that Amos was the better of the two? EJax duped us all…

I have been a huge Amos fan since he was drafted. He just as a knack for being a glue piece. He never had the instincts or the athleticism to be an elite safety, but the guy just made others around him better because he took care of his responsibilities. This makes guys with higher instincts who take more risks more effective.

I do not know if I ever said that Amos was "better" than EJ, but I do recall that I felt that he was essential to the success of the secondary. We should have paid him. End of story.

I remember the offseason where the decision on which safety to build around was discussed. Amos while a solid contributor also had a number of issues regarding tackling in the open field when coming up on shorter routes and runs and Jackson happened to ball hawk and have the better interception numbers and as a result, it definitely felt like Jackson was the better building block. I've been impressed that Amos seems to have addressed the tackling issues with Green Bay or perhaps it was just an off year for him, but he definitely turned out to be the better building block of the two. It's looking doubtful that Green Bay can keep Amos based on their cap situation so we'll see if he continues his success with his third franchise coming up.

I just can't see putting a guy who scouts say is afraid to tackle closer to the line of scrimmage. I would let him play a true deep center field and see if he can get a few INTs. I think his range is his best attribute right now.

His biggest issue is he gets lost in coverage playing CF. He also struggles to tackle in space which there is a lot of playing CF. Playing closer to the line helps him as less space to operate and he can jump routes.

If you watch his 2018 highlights most of his big plays came on dropping down underneath not on playing deep CF. He liked to jump underneath routes and was best tackling before a player could really make a move.

All this ever proves to me is how good Adrian Amos was as a safety and how good of a pairing he was with Eddie.

I said this for years and people argued with me about how Amos sucked. Amos was disciplined which allowed Eddie to freelance. It also allowed more flexibiloty as Amos could come up to stop the run and protect the deep middle.

Amos was a tackling machine. Just as solid as you can imagine. Hit like a train.

Jackson that year had 2x as many interceptions as Amos had his whole career, so I think the decision at that time was easy. Amos getting 9 million a year from the Packers was a huge contract.

Packers probably got more for their money with Amos but both were overpaid IMO.

I'm sure Eddie Jackson will play better for another team after he feels the sting of being released.

Just the fact that he has been allowed to play as half-ass as he has and was still starting says volumes about who Matt Nagy was as a coach. He had a bunch of dudes playing at preseason pace, and a bunch of dudes doing stupid shit, and zero accountability. Fuck that idiot.

Hey look, more thread derailing from my biggest fan.

Don’t forget I was the first to tell everyone how overrated Eddie Jackson was and I was called a troll and an idiot and now 99% of Bears fans are behind me in line.
