According to Kevin Fishbain, the Bears have signed WR Equanimeous St. Brown to a one-year extension that runs through the 2023 season. Ian Rapoport adds the deal is worth $1.25 million in total, which isn't a huge investment.

League minimum for a 5th yr player is $1.08M, so close and possibly just camp fodder.

That is essentially the vet minimum as for a 5 year tenured vet the league min is 1.08m

Don't expect much upgrades at WR, imo.

Velus should make the roster unless he just flat out sucks and shows zero improvement in preseason. EQ just re-upped.

Thats 4 guys already under contract. They probably draft a guy on day 3 and then sign some mediocre young vet like Parris Campbell.

none of the WRs make enough money to be an issue if an upgrade presents itself

Yea, but the FA list this year is pretty awful, I'm gonna pass on paying Jakobi Meyers, Allen Lazard, or Juju Poopster 10m+, and hopefully poles does too.

Good news for the bears is that mooney just got pretty cheap if they want to renew his deal too.

Only WR on the roster where it felt like they got more than expected. Cheap extension and at least thats one more player Fields will have some familiarity with moving forward. But he cannot be better than #4 on your depth chart.
