On "Catching Hell"

Pretty interesting look at the entire Bartman incident.

All the Red Sox stuff in there was odd...I get tying it into the Bartman incident a bit but IMO way too much time was spent on the Red Sox/Buckner play. I think the first 15 minutes of the show was all about Buckner and '86...then a good portion of the last 15 was.

All the different camera shots of the play were neat as well as them talking with people around Bartman. Interesting to see the owner of the Abby Pub on there because I had just watched that episode of Bar Rescue before the show.

The show also made me hate Cubs fans/sports fans in general.

people yelling to "put a 12 gauge in his(Bartman's) mouth and pull the trigger" was disgusting.

After the first 15 minutes I was actually starting to ask myself "When are they actually going to cover the Bartman stuff?'

I lul'd whenBartman's friends ditched him after the game.

The lawyers who wrote the 180 page report on the incident were losers.

It really sucks Bartman won't give interviews but at the same time what is he supposed to say?

Also, Gov. Blago's reaction to the thing just smacked of pandering and lameness. Also I thought Dusty did a terrible disservice to Bartman in his post game press conference. That's when as the leader/manager of the team you go up there and say we lost the game because of what we did, not because of some fan. But of course in typical Dusty fashion he says it was for sure fan itnerference, it was a large reason they lost, and that Bartman was maybe a Marlin's fan?

**** that.

I hated the curse stuff. Then the ESPN writer who said the Cubs had been "good" for most of his life I was like "WTF?" Assuming the guy is 30 the Cubs have made the playoffs 6 times in his lifetime. And been REALLY bad in between those appearances.

I see the angle they were trying to go for too, but they went for it too hard and it got bogged down in a bunch of Red Sox shit.

It amazes me to this day that people still blame Bartman for it and take it as a fact that Alou would have made the catch. However after seeing the footage a lot last night I'm thinking he may have had it. Not that it matters. As Gonzo still booted the grounder etc and Prior was getting ROCKED. Oh yeah, and the Cubs had already failed to clinch in Game 5. And then choked a lead away in Game 7.

Seeing the footage broken down and concentrating on the fans around Bartman I thought was a great touch and angle as whenever you watch that footage you always go right to Bartman/Alou.
