Sutton stays instead of Dunn, who might not actually exist, going by the thread content thus far.

3 TEs. Miller or Pascoe go. Extra spot goes to Fabuluje for the goal line dive in the Superbowl.

I understand those who say Shea deserves better coaching but I've watched him get pushed around too much physically and be lost mentally. He simply isn't an NFL player at his lighter weight and shouldn't be in coverage, ever. His only use on a roster would be as a situational pass rusher at his 2012/13 weight. I never liked Houston and highly doubt he's going to bring much to the table as a pass rusher, so I could live with letting him go and letting Shea take his OLB spot if he was to hit the weight room hard and get stronger, but that isn't going to happen.

Cutting an actual NFL player for Shea..

Who took your computer mick?

Omg that's absurd-- cutting a 5tech stout lineman occasional LB for Shea. Don't let his foolish injury cloud your judgement, he's one of our better prices on defense.

Seriously, you'd keep fucking nobody Dunn over Houston? Come on mayne...

It has literally zero to do with his celebration injury. I was lukewarm at best on the signing when it happened and I'm doubtful that he's going to bring anything to the table as a pass rusher in this defense. He isn't being used as a 5-tech DE, he's a linebacker.

Did you read the whole post or just the part you highlighted? I clearly said that I don't think Shea is an NFL player, and the ONLY use for him on the roster would be as a situational pass rusher, IF he hit the weight room and got stronger. And IF they were going to make him an OLB, the OLB I would miss the least if someone had to make room for him is Houston. I still think a healthy Jared Allen has more to offer as a pass rusher than Houston, and obviously McPhee is starting.

Wanna put a friendly wager on that?

I think good coaches are not as stubborn and easier to adapt. I actually am pretty confident if Houston is struggling at LB, Fangio would try him at 5 tech.

"New Bears coach John Fox said he'll play Lamarr Houston at outside linebacker, not defensive end, in the team's base 3-4 defense"

https://www.fantasysp.com/player/nf...s-to-use-lamarr-houston-at-outside-linebacker

http://chicago.suntimes.com/bears-f...will-try-outside-linebacker-bears-3-4-defense

If they change their mind and move him at a later date, cool, but as of right now, he's a linebacker.

Oh I agree that in the base he will play LB- and will more than likely be listed as a linebacker. He will however play many snaps at DE.

Vereen, Bass, Sutton get cut?! I gather that the Summer Crack Smoking Season has arrived at ESPN and they got Kevin the Intern to write the article..........?!

Weird...there was a time where Bleacher Report did this..........(some years they clearly took a fancy to Bath Salts)....but now it appears that ESPN's got that down....

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago Bulls
  2. San Antonio Spurs
  1. Chicago Bears
  2. Cleveland Browns
  1. San Jose Sharks
  1. Miami (Ohio) Redhawks
  2. Notre Dame Fighting Irish
Honestly, I enjoy these projections but how often is a just-drafted player shown the door (re: Tayo) unless they have a horrific injury or off-the-field incident? I guess you thought J'Marcus hung around too long as well? :smug2:

Remember the 53 doesn't include the PS. A late rounder on the practice squad? Very common.

Cutting David Bass would be a terrible move.

All the dude does is make plays when he is on the field and he is arguably better suited to play OLB in the 3-4.

I also highly doubt Sutton gets cut, top 80 pick from last season will be given more time to develop.

No way they keep Ducasse over a kid they drafted in Fabujule.

-Ducasse is awful.
-Ola is an OG
-Fabujule is from Ryan Paces first draft and he will keep all of them.

People are making too much out of 4 TEs and 3 guards. Having 3 guards doesn't matter when you have 2 guys listed at C and 4 at OT, guys like Ola, Montgomery, Leno, and maybe Mills can play OG too. 3 G, 4 T, and 2 C is the exact numbers that Fox kept last year in Denver. Ducasse and Fabuluje will battle for the last spot. Maybe Groy, but I thought he was terrible last year.

I also think 4 TEs is very feasible because there isn't really a strong backup. Those are the 4 I would go with also. Bennett the starter. Then you have Rosario (versatile), Pascoe (the blocker), Miller (the receiver). Combined with 5 WRs, it matches the 9 total Denver had last year (though they had 6 WR, 3 TE)

I think the Bears only keep 2 QBs (Carden on PS over Fales).

No way Vereen gets cut. If Sherrod Martin looks good enough to make the roster, IDK if the Bears have the balls to cut Mundy, but they also could keep all 5 S and only 5 CBs, considering Vereen and maybe Amos could figure in at the nickel.

Shea is probably going to make the team. Bass turned heads at OTAs also, so I think he makes the team too.

My "surprise" cuts are: Sam Acho, Tracy Porter, Jacquizz Rodgers, and if they keep only 8 LBs, Jon Bostic better watch his injured back.

QB (2)- Cutler, Clausen
RB (4)- Forte, Langford, Carey, Perry (Perry adds speed, special teams element. Rodgers is a 3rd down RB who is not necessary w/ Forte, Langford)
WR (5)- same as above (Bellamy has a shot if Bears find a capable returner, as he should be better on offense than Mariani)
TE (4)- same as above
OT (4)- Bushrod, Mills, Ola, Leno
OG (3)- Long, Slauson, Fabuluje
C (2)- Grasu, Montgomery

DL (7)- Ratliff, Goldman, Ferguson, Jenkins, Williams, Washington, Sutton (I feel Bears need to add a body here, 5 of the 7 are ?. A rookie, UDFA, 2nd year player with 300 snaps, 2nd year player with 400+ ineffective snaps, guy adding weight, learning a new position)
LB (9)- McPhee, Houston, Allen, Young, Bass, Foster, Jones, Bostic, McClellin
CB (6)- Fuller, Jennings, Ball, McManis, Louis-Jean, Glenn
S (4)- Rolle, Mundy, Vereen, Amos

3 specialist - same

Not an NFL player but worth a roster spot.. Houston can line up at OLB, DE, NT he's basically a poor mans McPhee. I wouldn't give up that guys roster spot for a guy whose done nothing in his career when we can not carry 3QBs or 4TEs and keep them both even if Shea is useless.

I am firmly on the keep David Bass bandwagon.

He was the only DE not named Young who looked like he had a pulse last season.

They will not cut Shea, Vereen, Bass, Sutton, Lattimore, or Fabuluje. All will make the team. They will instead cut Pascoe, Dunn, TWilliams, Porter, Ball and Martin.
