ESPN post draft power rankings

Hopefully this drives Pace and Fox on further to better the roster by leading by example, leaving no stone unturned and also pushing sourpuss Cutler to either try and perform average or gtfo.

This kind of power ranking is something these guys, both coaches and players alike, take very seriously.

On the bright side, if the Bears were able to draft top 5 next year, just think of the talent at BPA again? Every cloud has a silver lining.

Is ESPN power rankings what they mean by, "Championships are won in the offseason?"

The only thing more worthless than an in-season power ranking is a power ranking before any draft picks or free agents have practiced or played for their new teams. What is the point of stuff like this? Seriously.

No different then giving draft grades before anyone puts the pads on.

If our head coach grew a mustache that would put us over the Packers, easily.

the power rankings mean jack shit.

too many factors to predict no one is going to know what kind of team we or anyone else has for that matter till week fiveish at least. can make all the predictions they like but we wont know till they hit the field for a few weeks what kind of team we even have at this point

NFL.com has us 23rd FWIW.

If Kevin White doesn't start from Day 1, it's Jay Cutler's body language's fault. The Eddie Goldman pick in the second round took this whole 3-4 fad from talking point to the point of attack when the Packers come calling Week 1. That will be a raucous matchup: 2014 rookie stud Corey Linsley and Goldman, mano a mano. Was a little surprised GM Ryan Pace opted for Jeremy Langford at No. 106 overall, given that Ka'Deem Carey already backs up one of the best backs in football. But perhaps this was another case of the BPAs. And while I am typing this, the robot scene from Rocky IV (Paulie's birthday gift) is playing on the TV. Seriously, was that the best prop available?

The robot from Lost in Space was out on loan for another movie. They missed it by only a week.

Ughhh power rankings, why even play the game if the "experts" already know? I don't give a crap, but I'm going to tell you how much of a crap I don't give

Maybe there shouldn't be any expert predictions at all, or power rankings, or game previews, or any analysis of players that moved team to team or were drafted or anything. Because nobody knows and it's all on the field right?

OR we could look at it for what it is, one (or I think in this case they have a panel) analyst's guess.

Personally, I like these things. I don't really care if the Bears are perceived as being bad. I remember "If the Bears win the division, I will eat my laptop". I feel much better about the future of this team than I did 5 months ago. I just like more Bears news, talk, analysis, comparison. I like all of it as long as it is well written and from a knowledgeable source. The season clearly isn't played on paper, but that doesn't mean that we can't have fun talking about how things might stack up.

Before the draft 26th, after the draft still 26th. Here's the logic:
Thoughts?

My thoughts are that the writer doesn't know there is free agency or that we fired Tucker and Trestman.

Maybe we still are 26, but to refer only to the draft is lazy.

The Bears went offense with three of their first four picks, including WR Kevin White (seventh overall). How will that help a defense that allowed the second-most points last season?

Thoughts?
That's a rather shockingly obtuse assessment.

Hmm... where did I read, "The best defense is a good offense"?

In football it's essential logic to go BPA -- beat them anyway you can -- and the only way to win is outscoring your opponent.

Plus Bears 2014 offense was only 23rd in scoring -- lightyears of room for improvement.

If our coach and GM work harder because of an article some guy writes, we hired the wrong men.

They wisely will not give a ****.

ND is horrible.
Who honestly cares?

They most likely won't be playing for a playoff spot by the end of the season; whether they go 3-13 or 7-9 doesn't concern me as much as things like whether they defense starts to gel, we find out which LB spots are filled and if the LT slides in quality of play any further do.

Worry about what is actually important moving forward guy.

Does no longer having Mel Tucker not count for anything?

The fact they made power rankings before a single game is even played is just stupid.

That is low.

I would put the Bears at 22ish.

This season just needs to be about improving and healing from last season.

I can't wait till the Bears rock training camp, go 4-0 in the preseason and secure a playoff berth. OT: I have 4 at the 50 for Fan Fest if anyone is interested, PM me.
