Basically you change your lifestyle. You adopt a diet as something permanent and stick to it, whether it be keto, paleo, low Cal, no sugar, no wheat, or whatever.Wait, so I can't continue to eat like shit and just exercise alot and lose weight?

Dis why the "Im on a new diet" thing kills me.... you can't change your diet for 6 weeks and lose weight and expect to keep it off going back to a shitty diet.
To lose weight and keep it off you have to change your diet, not just pick up a new one for a short period of time.

I run almost every day and I eat complete trash sometimes. I have no diet at all and I'm lean. Running sheds fat so fast. Granted I'm young and have a fast metabolism but still.
Hit up the sauna too.
Guy I know lost a shitload of college beer weight when he hit up the sauna 4-5 days a week for 20 minutes. Granted he worked out prior but swore that a lot of the weight loss was due to the sauna. I agree. Yes, you'll lose some water weight; but your heart rate is also quite high so that helps with burning calories.
Oh, and crossfit.
