No. Jeffery is good, but Marshall is an all pro. Also, do you think they gave Cutler a 7 year deal (essentially a 3 year deal, but whatever) without having a plan to resign Marshall?

Your sarcasm detector is broken.

You could extend Marshall, but we have a lot of positions to fill.

Do you really trust Marshall in a contract year? He already questioned his 'role' last preseason. Hard to believe it won't happen again.

*pretends as if he knew the cba rules*

you can't extend alshons contract until next year..how did you not know that?

Becuse I can read... I'm not pretending to know this because I do know this please read the article if you can.

"Further, there are no renegotiations of rookie contracts until after a player's third year, removing any holdout possibilities for a high-performing young player before his fourth year."

So, I'm thinking we can extend Alshon Jeffery.

Marshall can be extended. Thing is do we have any cap room left to do so really? I'd rather fill out the team first and see how the cap structure is before extending Marshall.

Extending Marshall could lower the cap hit for this year, though.

I'm sure they're considering all scenarios. There's a lot of contract work to be done this year.

Great point! BM will cost 9.3 mil against the cap as we speak. The Bears could extend the contract and lower the cap hit THIS year by 2-4 mil, imo. Then, next year, Jay's contract going from $22.5 mil to $15.5 mil pays for the next year, etc.

They should extend alshon now, wait and see how marquis welson does after putting on some weight before extending marshall. The beast might be expendable.

Not so great point .......
