Why not trade Zambrano? Thats a lot of money we could save.

No Trade Clause, he said he won't waive it. End of story.

To trade Z going to have to eat halve of salarly..you already paid the man might as well keep him and see what u get. What scares me is if he is in Top 2 of Cy Young in the next 2 years then 2013 option kicks in at 19.25 mil... I can see him having a great year this year to.

Interesting trade idea...

Cubs get:
Michael Young
Darren 0'Day
Chris Davis

Rangers get:
Alfonso Soriano
2-3 spects (1 being Chrinios)
about 20M

Other spects could be Lee (but Texas have MI spects who are expected to be good), Carpetner. Archer won't be included.

So, maybe:

Texas gets:
Soriano
Chrnios
Lee
Vitters

I actually wouldn't mind this trade and would love for to happen. Vitters I could care less for but Lee I would hate to lose. The bullpen will be better and the lineup too. But the SR will be the same because the Garza trade wouldn't happem"

Lineup:
CF Brett Jackson (I know you can't rush him to the 1 spot, but this is just a fast lineup for maybe mid season.
SS Castro
2B Michael Young
3B Aramis Ramirez
1B Carlos Pena
RF Marlon Byrd
C Geovany Soto
LF Tyler Colvin

Will finish rest or my post when I get him, got to go.
20M

Why Byrd in RF and Jackson in CF? Other way around would be better.

Byrd is getting older and slower. I think the move to RF can also save him longer for the whole season.

IDK, B-Jax was moved to RF for a reason.

We're giving up quite a bit for Young and O'Day.. Davis isn't overly proven.

Yeah I know, but to get Soriano off the books and out of the OF. So the Cubs could bring up Jackson, maybe then. I didn't finish my post but oh well. I would think Texas would add a spect o another player or the Cubs spects are worst. Maybe take Lee out for McNutt. McNutt is rated higher but the Cubs pitching is stock and I like Lee better too.

Ya, IK. I thought you made it up first, didn't know that it was an actual "report".

Fukudome, Castillo, Chirinos, Marquez Smith or Marwin Gonzalez (or as in the last player, not as in any of the previous or), and cash ($, not Cashner) for Morel and Viciedo .

Sox get the OBP guy Dews asked for...
Cubs get 2 good prospects, and make replacing Ramirez and Pena unnecessary, as Morel and Viciedo can take over...
Sox get Welington Castillo to man backstop in the future, as Flowers begins to look more and more like a bust...
Marquez Smith or Marwin Gonzalez gives the Sox options at 3B...
Cubs shed payroll...
Chirinos gives the Sox depth and a future backup for Castillo...
By trading Chirinos, Cubs do not acquire Chris Davis...

Could work. But maybe 1 side is giving up too much.

Talk about overpaying....

Okay, why do we give them two back up catchers? They only need one. Why wouldn't we just keep Chirinos so we could acquire Davis or Garza?

Yes, we would get two prospects, but since when are prospects a lock to make the big leagues? We also have this kid Vitters who is pretty good.

Why would the Sox essentially trade Morel or Smith or Gonzalez? That doesn't make a lot of sense...

Morel or Smith or Gonzalez? What?

Oh, for Smith or Gonzalez. IDK, I did this quick.
