Back then I loved all sports but it was the Golden Age of boxing so, for me, it was more about the man, Ali, who transcended his sport like no other, and those around him. I liked both Ali and Foreman a lot but Ali was #1.

And the days listening to Howard Cosell and ABC Wide World of Sports, those were special days.

Edit _ Sparty, do you remember the Larry Holmes Tex Cobb fight that made Cosell quit boxing, then the one with Frasier's son the next year?

ISIS was after my time, however, Joanna Cameron was hot as hell back in the day. She was in a horrible move called B.S. I Love You, her being all beautiful in it almost made it watchable.

The Shazam/Isis Hour... remember it well.

I remember both those fights. The Fight with Cobb was very lopsided but I think Howard was predisposed to quit. That was right around the time Ray Mancini fought a Korean fighter who also seemed like a huge mismatch and that fighter died after the fight so no doubt Cosell had that fresh on his mind.

Frazier's kid was a joke who didn't belong anywhere near a ring that Holmes was standing in. It was as if Holmes was fighting some average Joe off the street who had never fought before.
