Yes wise one @Jamais Vu I guess thats probably the best thing to do . I must stopbeing so lazy.

Seriously worth the extra steps.

Even if you do not want to do the french press thing....just grinding your own beans at the moment you are brewing the coffee and using water out your Brita pitcher is life changing. Especially right now with a new and clean machine.

Since you are on the wrong side of every topic, issue, thought, and opinion - of course you would think as much.

Consistently a dumb-ass.
Coffee is for weak caffine slaves. Yeah, how many crutches do you have?

Weed + Alcohol +Coffee in moderation and at appropriate times = great joy.

What's your point, that you're somehow more disciplined or mentally or physically stronger? GTFO.

I'm not a slave to caffeine or drugs like you.

You probably also differ from me in the following ways: I'm not close to death, I have all my digits, flat stomach, money, I don't drive a POS girly audi grocery-getter, I do not clip coupons for 2:1 shit diner meals, and I do not live in Elgin.

I’ve been through several brands of coffee and preparation styles in the last few years so here’s my $.02.

Any preparation will be infinitely better with a really good kind of bean. I’ve settled on a 15 cup moka pot, which is just a stovetop espresso maker. The 15 cup amount sounds like a lot but this is denominated in espresso cups, so the real world conversion is about 16oz. This amount fits perfectly into an insulated kleen kanteen with a little room for cream or any other dress ups.

The beans I’ve settled on is from Wild Foods. I get any medium or light roast, just depends on what I feel like ordering at the time. I also get whole beans and bring up a fresh batch the night before in a hand grinder. All my prep is done the night before so all I have to do is fire up the stove in the morning and a few minutes later I have delicious espresso ready to re-animate my body

Hope this helps

The well water i have is the best tasting water i ever drank. I dont know what impurities the britta pitcher would eliminate in my well water . But the grinding thing i will give a go at it . @Jamais Vu

I'm not a coffee drinker but my wife is a fanatic. For years she had a Cuisinart with a built in grinder, she would load it up at night, set the timer and the grinder would kick on and then it would make the coffee, she walks downstairs in the morning to a freshly ground piping hot cup of coffee. Eventually the Cuisinart got old and our kid convinced her to go with a french press, so now it is this:

just grinding your own beans at the moment you are brewing the coffee and using water out your Brita pitcher is life changing.

She buys Starbucks brand beans from Costco. So, Starbucks whole beans fresh ground, Brita filtered water, french press, she claims that's the perfect cup.

I insist the Brita stays in the fringe, she uses an electric tea pot to heat up the water, it takes about a minute. Not this model but something like this one < $20.

The biggest change for me was going whole bean and grinding right before I brew. I use the French press and a drip machine depending on how much time and coffee I want.

I like New Mexico pinion coffee company. Some of their seasonal flavors are amazing.

Based on your list...let us start with something more basic. Stop buying ground coffee. Purchase a grinder and buy whole bean. Combine that with filtered water and the specific "brand" should matter less.

I need a grinder myself.

Like most, I’ve jumped on the whole bean wagon and won’t look back. That said, I’m still using a drip machine. A French press will be my next purchase.

I’ve been using Smugglers coffee, and they store beans in used barrels from local breweries. Really good stuff.
