My father in law was a mechanic at United Airlines and he used to bring home giant boxes filled with airline sized packages of macadamia nuts, literally hundreds in a box. He was giving of a box every couple weeks, we actually got sick of them and asked him to stop.

Ingrates. They're actually seen as being very healthy now, unlike back in the day when they were demonized for their heavy fat content.

We ate so many of those we were expecting to gain weight, never did, just got sick of them. It's like the old saying, whenever you see a total smoke show walking down the street, somewhere there is a guy sick of banging her.

Fisher is the lowest quality nuts on the market. Get a real job so you can afford quality food

Says the guy with no nuts... who also lauded Aldi's shit.
Aldi's pistachios are high quality. Fisher sells trailer park nuts. They buy all the nuts that reputable sellers wont touch.

Really? That's what was in the store last time I got them so that's what I got. With 1 listed ingredient, being pecans, I didn't think brand mattered but now that you put it in my head, I'll avoid that brand in the future.

Chicken broth. It was a life saver when I was doing Keto, and I still use it as an afternoon snack if I'm feeling a bit hungry. That and string cheese.

EDIT: And black coffee if I'm feeling a bit hungry in the morning.

There are a lot of youtube channels dedicated to keto. You'll have no problem finding all you need to know about it there.

As far as the science, keto was developed in the 1920s as a treatment for epilepsy. Patients would be put on a diet of roughly 75% fat, 20% protein and 5% carbs. This takes away the body's first choice of energy which is carbs. It then has to use fat which it does by converting the fat into ketones and those ketones were believed to have an anti-electrical effect on the brain which helped patients with epilepsy when all else had failed. In modern history, keto came to the forefront in the 90s when parents of a 2 year old boy, who suffered daily seizures, sought out the keto treatment in a last ditch effort to cure their son. After being put on the keto diet, their son quickly became seizure free and the story was told on Dateline and then in a film made for TV. Since then, a lot more studies have been done on keto. It's now studied for treating many other diseases such as cancer, type 2 Diabetes, Autism, parkinson's, etc.

The keto diet grew from that exposure. More so than the Atkins diet, a strict keto diet keeps the same macro nutrients that were used for those medical treatments in order to make the body become fat adapted and, essentially, be more willing to feast off our own stored fat.

I wouldn't recommend any books I would just google the diet, understand the basics of it and then just google keto recipes. It is really simple to follow.

Except for the mud brane you get for the first week or so.
