The map isn't exact science. Mostly because not everyone that lives here is from here.

I watched/read a lot of shit in my class about this stuff and there were a few studies done.. and all of the things I saw/heard said "pop" was popular in Chicago and the midwest. my teacher also had us raise our hands for what we said. It was around 45 out of 60 kids that said pop and the rest said soda. Half of the ones that said soda weren't from chicago or their family wasn't from chicago.

on a side note, I also learned that some people from Pittsburgh say gumband instead of rubber band. There was a video of this lady that didn't even know what a rubber band was when they asked her haha

Barely. 6 said Pop, 5 said Coke. :shifty: Were you one of the 16 respondants in Clinton county? 2003, you were like 46 or 47 years old back then right?

I know that. These surveys have been going on for a LONG time, and every time I wonder how they are done. I don't remember getting polled, do you? LOL

Hell, if someone stopped me and said, "sir, can I take a moment of your time to ask you a few questions", I might just say whatever is quickest to get them out of my face. I have a feeling that a lot of people would as well.

3500 people polled in Cook Co. 4 million residents. Hmmmm. :) /my gripe with "scientific" polling, and how they mold undecided perception with unintended(or sometimes purposeful) bias.

The only reason I knew about this study was because my high school history teacher was polled via phone call at the school. How he was selected, I don't know.

EDIT: He evidently lied to us. You can take part in the poll on the homepage of that map.

I don't normally drink pop, but when I do....

I prefer Dr. Pepper...then Mt Dew, cherry Pepsi and Sunkist or whatever it's called. Then Jupina bc I'm wannabe Spanish

As far as orange soda.
Crush > Fanta > Sunkist

Just my opinion.

I gave up pop when I was 5 hahaha.

But I did drink a sprite a couple of years ago and I got the worst stomach ache ever. My body clearly wasn't used to it.

It is weird how well soda goes with games

Yep. Also went great with saturday morning cartoons. I remember sitting at home, X-Men on TV, coke in one hand, a bag of doritoes on my lap. Not a care in the world...until Zena fn Warrior Princess came on.

Really don't drink soda too much. When I do, there's nothing like Wild Cherry Pepsi from the soda fountain next to work.
