I'll be there. Love the tense atmosphere of this show. Kinda reminds me of playing Silent Hill or The Last of Us.

I can't believe they just abandoned Silent Hills with Norman Reedus.

I saw the first season so I'll watch it still. Like how they start it from the very beginning. I'm sure they can track it down to being caused by vaccines.

First episode of season 2 was alright.

But it already looks like it's going to be people Vs. people.

It's a matter of trust at this point and not wanting any infected among them. At least they still seem to have a military as cowardly as it is.

Episode was decent.... I was really hoping for a World War Z (the book) style scene underwater.... was hoping Nick would look down and see thousands upon thousands of zombies at the bottom.

Premiere was good so refreshing to see this after the boring and stale walking dead. Can't wait for the next episode. That's how you do a cliffhanger folks.

The sea will be a very dangerous place once the military goes rougue.
Not much you could do against navy or coast guard cutters for instance.
Give your food, water, fuel or die...

Nah, military all die really easily in TWD universe.... FTWD people gonna start coming across huge Navy ships with all the sailors dead/zombie.

And you gonna go "How da fuq did dat happen.... to every Navy ship?" and the writers be like "Lolwhocares?"

S2 E1 was better than any episode from the first season. Still not up to TWD standards, but that's to be expected. I'll keep watching, it's better than most shit on tv.

I feel like a lot happened in this show while at the same time, nothing really happened.

They are doing that subtle character development stuff... Chris going pickaxe to dem zombies.... Travis being perturbed about it... Daniel and Ophelia being team players and holding down da boat so Strand couldn't bail on them.

Besides Daniel and Nick.... everyone has to learn and accept how fucked up the world is.... TWD characters went through this too.

Chris might be an emo bitchy teenager but he seems to be the only other person who realizes dey gonna need to kill alot of zombies to survive.

So essentially they showed off character traits and dynamics we all already knew they had?

I would say this was character rehashing, not development.

I would disagree for 2 reasons:

1. You cannot assume every person watching FTWD has experienced all the character dev in TWD
2. You cannot assume every FTWD character will develop and become someone we have already seen in TWD

If Travis becomes Rick and Madison becomes Carol and Chris becomes Daryl.... etc then we can call it rehashing, but none of the characters are even at the stage where we first met the majority of the cast of TWD.

IMO FTWD is unique because you have a group of people who are on their way to becoming survivors.... TWD handed you a group of survivors and took it from there.

FTWD isn't breaking a ton of new ground I agree.... I would have preferred to of seen a longer more detailed unfolding of the zombie apocalypse.... but I think they blew that chance and jumped to more familiar ground.

However it is a different setting, different types of people, different challenges.... we will see if it gets interesting or if it sputters out.

I'm not talking about in relation to TWD, I'm talking about only this show.

Chris doing his own thing, Travis looking for Chris (Isn't that what they were doing in the series premiere?)
Madison trying to be motherly and save people
Daniel and Ofelia being sneaky and forming their own plans
Victor being mysterious
Alicia wandering around without any real purpose.

Nothing anybody did in this episode was new, revealing, or surprising, and barely anyone grew or changed. This is all fine and dandy if the plot is moving along, but it wasn't. All you can really say is that in this episode Chris became more comfortably killing zombies, and we learned (in the last seconds) that Victor is planning to meet someone. That's why I said it was basically filler. You could accidentally skip this episode in a binge and maybe the only thing you'd be wondering is what happened to the boat that was chasing them.

That being said, it's still much better than The Walking Dead.

Ah ok I got you then.

Yeah sure definitely some rehashing, but iono characters are gonna character.... I mean they are characters playing human beings.... human beings tend to do alot of the same shit over and over and repeat the same mistakes over and over.

We are only 8 episodes into the entire series, if we get to episode 1 of season 3 and it is more of the exact same because they have not experiences consequences, then I will be annoyed.

I think we will see the things you point out start to either bare fruit or cause serious problems..... one of these times Chris goes AWOL he or someone else is gonna die. One of these times Travis goes looking for him he or someone else is gonna die. One of these times Madison tries saving people she or someone else is gonna die. Or maybe things click for Alicia and she does something useful.... or maybe Madison saves someone who turns out to be an asset that gets them out of a jam.... or maybe Daniel/Ofelia save the group because of their planning/sneaking.

I get what you are saying, but I do think alot of that will begin to drive conflict and change.
