Ibanez came out of nowhere into the mainstream of guitars, which instantly over-rated them. But I think now that the dust settled, they have become under-appreciated just as quick as they became over-rated. Of course, neck-through only. Bolt-ons are merely par among many other good guitars. Well, that, and the edge-types can be a real pain to maintain if you aren't a Floyd Rose trem person(yes, it takes a certain person, either love or hate). I love a good Floyd Rose, good being the key, and aside from the low-pro and edge pro, Ibanez's FRs are VERY inconsistent.
And BTW guys, talking about amps. About 10 years ago I started a site for amp building. About 4 years ago, sole ownership was transfered to a guy by the name of joecool, and it was mainly his baby, and his idea to start this type of site. It's mainly for solid state DIY amps with schematics for many things amp, not just solid state. Tubes are welcome, as well as hybrid. All kinds of building and repair talk.
www.ssguitar.com <-was mine, and the forum is kept up. I don't know if joe kept the wiki up, or the effects/preamp subdomains(I gathered all kinds of builders sites from around the web, talked to them, got them off generic 3rd level domain hosting, and transfered their sites over). Some of the side sites on ssguitar are by guys that opened their design sources to the public, and have passed away since(incredible what happens in a decade). Please, if you're interested, check it out. Joe is a good guy too, very knowledgeable and helpful. Good spirits.
