This is a whatever move. But we need a new guy to try at starting. Hendricks and Haren aren't trustworthy. They are both good for 4-5 runs a game and that's not good.

And as for Wada, I know the game I went to last week, he started and got rocked! 4 straight hits to start the game. I think he gave up like 9 hits, 5 runs in 4-5 innings against the scrubby Bees.

Hendricks doesn't bother me that much, he's been close to league average this year, but Haren is much worse than expected. Wada isn't the answer. There may not be an answer, but I would try Pierce Johnson for one start and see what the kid can do.

Another option is sitting right now in the bullpen. Travis Wood. Yeah, yeah I know his history...but as inconsistent as he was, he was still way better than anyone else they tried to replace him with. I'd get Johnson up here for a start while I stretch Wood back out for starting just in case the kid blows a tire.

But you're right about one thing, there may not be an answer. Might have to patchwork your way to the playoffs....once you get there, the 5th starter just becomes another bullpen arm anyway.

Almost forgot.....DFA Haren.

It's an insurance policy more than anything. Trying to give themselves options on back-to-backs for Rondon, Grimm, Strop, etc. Don't mind the deal... but we really need the upgrade at the back end of the rotation.

The answer to replacing Haren would come from Cahill if anyone.

It is too late in the season to experiment with extending Wood. Or Richard to start. Wada is not that good. Teams just did not know him. Haren got wrecked but you have to think of it this way: he depends on location and he had Schwarber back there. He had little chance.

On to Rodney. I'll let him dictate my opinion. If he sucks well what ever. If he has gas in the tank still. Good for him and ride it out.
