Coaching staff decided fields was too good at running and throwing deep, and defenses would expect it. So they turned him into chad pennington.

Think we all by now have seen the tape of Fields not pulling the trigger on some big throws last game. That’s on Fields.

The lack of designed runs is on Getsy.

I feel like it's a bad sign if what they're doing is trying to completely recreate him as a QB, and not keep him at where he was so successful, and then slowly work other aspects in.

Absolutely everyone wants to know where the Fields running game was. Those plays need to be there in order to open up other parts of the offense.

I'm really hoping this offense looks VERY different on Sunday.

Dan Wiederer said on the radio the book is out now in the NFL on how to defend Fields.

Kinda makes sense to me the league would adjust. Now Fields and Getsy need to adjust on their end.

That would make sense if they actually ran a gameplan similar to last year for fields.

They did not. Another stupid report from a guy who is just a journalist.

The packers put a spy on fields to stop the run. The answer to that is NOT throwing a bunch of fucking screens. Getsy's gameplan was dogshit, simple as that.

Fields needs to improve, but you can only critique him so much when the coaching staff is asking him to play like a guy with a limp noodle for an arm.

They put a spy on him to limit the runs after the pocket collapses.

That doesn't excuse getsy only calling one designed keeper for fields, which was in garbage time.

It's not recreating him.. it's developing him. An NFL QB needs to actually be able to throw from the pocket, force him to learn that skill and he can become like Mahomes if not and it's Trubisky..

If all you care about is him running then argue for moving him to the RB position

This is why he needs to also be a good passer, forcing Fields to prove he can be a real NFL passer in his prove it year is the right decision

The opportunities to throw were there. Getsy can't throw it for him.

I with ya'll on the lack of designed runs. I with everyone on some of the play design was dogshit.

what Fields currently is is not sustainable long term and is already being game planned. He HAS to learn to throw w anticipation soon ...if you really watch QB school what you'll notice is how frustrated the WR's were getting, especially number 2 who should have had more yards and catches if he would have let it rip

So taking away what he does at an elite level, and turning him into a pocket statue is "developing him". Gotcha. ?

Yes, how do you not understand this? I was pounding the table last year about this same issue, stop the running and work on his weaknesses so he could actually develop as a QB.

We are not winning the Superbowl this year so find out if he can be a real passer. Once the team is built to actually contend you can get a more balanced attack with him.. but right now force him to work on his weaknesses

You're talking about a few plays tho. And every QB misses some reads. Justin needs to be more decisive, but that doesn't change the fact getsy called a shitton of designed screens up until they were down 11ty.

Just a terrible gameplan overall. Entire offense was terrible.

Like I said, not much you can learn from this tape. Just don't watch it, burn that shit, and hope and pray it doesn't repeat on sunday.

drew, go away. This is a discussion between people who aren't brane dead.

You have your own fields thread, stick to there. Thanks.
