Is it just me or does anyone else notice how these two teams more often than not, seem to have similar seasons? Not just this past season (Starting out strong, going on a huge losing streak, then winning the last game) but past seasons as well. I have been noticing this for years now. I just think that its kinda weird but cool! Just wondering.......

That seems to be true. I was way pumped for the Illini when they got off to that great start. So glad zook is gone.

Yep. 2001 is the perfect example. Two teams that had monster seasons.

Bears go 13-3, win the division, couldn't beat the Packers all year
Illini go 10-2, win the Big Ten championship, couldn't beat Michigan

Both teams followed up those years with bad seasons.
Bears go 4-12 in 2002, 7-9 in 2003
Illini go 5-7 in 2002, 1-11 in 2003

Turner should have been fired when Jauron was fired. Illinois would never have gotten Zook though, and even though he wasn't the best coach, he did rebuild the program.

Still say, the perfect Illinois coaching staff......Turner OC, Zook HC, and DC Lou Tepper!

Tepper's defenses were insane!
Turner's offense wasn't bad at all!
Zook would just supply the players!
