I just now read Brian's article about Gordon, in which he made the same comparison to the Pistons. So I hope Brian didn't think I was stealing his point. Purely coincidental.

Great point, but yes that was 30 years ago when the 2 guards were still smaller, but also that Pistons team was built like the Spurs teams of now. They were the best defensive team in the league and had great big men. Just like the Spurs have Duncan. Gordon's size does matter,unless you have great big men.

USA TODAY "Blackhawks NHL Preview - 2010 Special Edition"

I was on my way out of a drugstore this morning and near the door a picture of Jonathan Toews in his red Indian head caught my eye on a newspaper rack. Upon further inspection I see it's a lovely oversized USA Today newspaper "magazine" mostly devoted to the Hawks and then the rest to previewing the upcoming season.



It's printed on a special heavy stock of newspaper paper and the of the 47 total pages, the first 23 are devoted to the Hawks (but y'all are NOT gonna like where their staff eventually ranks CHI for the upcoming season, lol!). Naturally, I had the throw a five spot at it and pick it up. That was some damn effective product placement as it certainly forced me stop in my tracks and then make another purchase---well played Walgreen's, well played. :lol:

I picked myself up on as well but was a bit disappointed there wasn't more color involved on the photos.
