Here it is guys. The day is here. With that said, everyone make your final prediction on what you think will happen tonight. It can be simple or detailed. Whatever you like. But make sure you finalize your prediction. There’s no such thing as a stupid prediction, not matter how unrealistic it may be. If what you post is what you think they’ll be doing tonight, then great.
For the record, this is not a “I called it” thread. Nobody knows what the future holds, and for sure nobody here knows what Poles will do tonight. But it’s just to have fun with it. If someone guesses right, then hey, cool. That was awesome that you guessed the outcome correct. But there was no way of you knowing 100% that it would fall that way. It was just a guess.
Here is my prediction:
Bears are getting three “top 15” players this year. As Poles mentioned, he wants “top talent” this year and we could even have less picks than what we started with. So below is what I think will transpire tonight.
#1: Caleb Williams
#9: Odunze/Nabers if it looks like one of those will fall to us or trade up if one doesn’t seem like they will fall to us (use a 2025 3rd round pick or package a 4th pick and 6th pick, and see if they accept the latter first.
#12 - #19 Trade 2025 1st round pick, this year’s 3rd and 4th pick, and possibly a player or an additional 2025 late pick if needed. Select best DT or DE available.
We are still using our 2025 1st round pick on a first round player/talent. What we give away is this year’s 3rd and 4th pick. That’s what we are really losing. And maybe an existing player or late 2025 pick if it’s needed to make the deal. But if it’s an existing player, it’s someone that’s Poles is comfortable with trading in a deal.
Examples below: (Doesn’t have to be exact team we trade with. And this is just to show something along these lines is what I’m predicting.)
Worst case as far as trading picks go:
Best case as far as trading picks go: (We kept our #122 pick but I just made this to show our 1st round)
We can also take Bowers if Poles is fine with that at #9:
They can also trade for a tad less capital and target Braden Friske for maybe a 2nd rounder instead of our 1st. Maybe.
