That would be the one DM - and Kitchen was raving about it right before the 3rd on his blurb on the telecast - talking about 'stickhandling in (the proverbial) phonebooth'.

Frankly Panarin did not do much on his first shift and he also got to serve a bench minor (too many men on the ice) - not sure if it was his fault or not -but hey -it was the guy's first game and he speaks next to no English ... I can't imagine doing my job under those circumstances...

It wasn't perfect - but he settled into the game much better than it started -and I have seen other guys be overwhelmed and that did not happen.

I'm glad Panarin is playing well and made the roster. Can't fault people for being skeptical. I'll willingly eat crow if he continues to play like that.

My favorite teams
  1. Portland Timbers
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
Igor Radulov also looked good in his first few games for the Blackhawks.
To be fair I didn't see the game so I can't judgement on Panarin, but everybody keeps raving about him so hopefully he's as good as hyped.

Bingo. He looked damned good--as well as Dano early on. What really matters is how good they are when other teams start making bookm on his playing style and counter him--and his reaction to it. He could go Samsonov or he could adapt well. Either way play him until he falters.

Ditto with Baun, although his issue may be penalties, not ability.

Still, liking how the team is shaping up for Wednesday and beyond!

Panarin with 2 assists off shots. Remember when some people here thought he was just as likely or some even more likely to not make the team and go back to Russia than make the team? I literally only read that view on here. :smug2:

Preseason means nothing, if he turns out to have a role that's great, or even score 20 goals ....but to say a player from Russia will star on the Hawks when he's never played here before is pre-mature. Maybe:smug2: wait for a sample size in meaningful regular season games before proclaiming him to be a solid NHL player regardless if everyone else is anointing him the next Brandon Saad or whatever it is you think he'll be.

I hope he does work out but so far he is just hype.

Skating with Kane and Anisimov certainly increases the likelihood of him succeeding. Hard to fail with those two guys on your line.

I agree the fact that Q sees something in him to skate him with that line seems promising.

All of the hype coming from fans last summer proclaiming him to be a 1st liner,2nd liner :dunno: is BS, nobody really knew and really, still don't.
