Also seeing 10-6 assuming good health. But even a few unfortunate injuries knock that down to 8-8.

9-7. I think our defense is going to keep us competitive in most games and hopefully our offense does just enough.

Final season prediction?

I predict that 2119 will be the final NFL season. By then, ratings will be so low that the broadcast will be switched over to Heidi, cyborg Heidi of course. The reason for this is that it will be considered so tame compared to the violence exhibited on the current form of TV, including programs for children.

Now if Trump wins the election, the final NFL season will be 2022 because Trump will have killed the US, if not the world, by then.

As much as we've talked about the QB situation, the OL, and having TEs now, Nagy is still the wild card for me. It gave me hope at the end of last season when he talked about talking a long look at himself. I really hope he figured some shit out. Because he has been a huge liability.

If he still treats the running game like something he needs to incorporate to get the media off his back, we are in trouble.
No doubt Nagy has been a liability just as much as an asset.

First rule I hope he learns is to keep doing what works. Make a defense stop your successful plays before you shoot a trick play out your shoe, or bench hot players, or stop taking advantage of mismatches or defensive players that are screwing up. Always burns me when the running game is making excellent gains and then Nagy loses yards with a trick play... or just generally taking the ball away from the hot players making plays.

Second rule, and more important and fundamental than the first, make your scheme and plays based on the strength and weaknesses of your players.

10-6.

Were 8-8 last year with a putrid offense.

The defense will be top 5 and even a slight offensive improvement, via a better Trubisky or Foles should get a couple more wins.

9-7. Not enough to make playoffs but enough to satisfy management as everyone returns

11-5. I had them at 10-6 but with the game only a day away, fandom has kicked in. Reasons why would be competent, not great, play from Mitch and the OL, Monty and TEs having bigger role. Healthier D (we'll see, Quinn missing and Mack dinged is not good for game 1). Think Smith will be on a mission, Jackson where he belongs and Johnson looking like a vet.

Division is tougher this year. Vikes look very solid and should be favorites, GB reigning champs and Lions better if their HC decides to not always play man against us. (sorry, Mitch)

USA Today weighed in at 10-6. I only mention this because generally speaking, the rag hates the Bears.

It’s hard not to think we’ll be over .500. We were 8-8 last year facing a more difficult schedule and the offense was beyond horrible.

Looking at this team on paper I don't have a good feeling. The re-tooled Oline could find a groove running the ball and Nagy could still lose it and have multiple games with like a 3:1 pass/run ratio. Trubisky becoming a true franchise QB is a pipe dream. The D could be dominant again with Hicks back or they could decide this whole year is one big asterisk and go on autopilot.

The difference maker would be if good Foles shows up, reads defenses, establishes an offensive rhythm and lets the position players build some confidence. With either qb this offense is going to look very rough for the first few weeks - a lot like it did when the starters did not play at all during preseason last year. If Foles gets the nod by week 4 there may be at least some reason to pay attention but not a ton of hope.

It will also be fun to see if Kmet turns out to be the real deal. I don't think we'll know right away.

Will say 9-7 and sniff the playoffs but either just miss or are eliminated in the first round. I would love it if they were the comeback story of the year.

Bonus prediction: there will be a missed field goal tomorrow but it won't make a difference to the outcome.

12-4. The Biscuit needs the safety net of reliable tight ends. He is motivated to prove his doubters wrong, and I can’t wait for him to finally look like a franchise QB. He will also have the second most QB rushing yards in the league. He will start every game unless he’s injured. He will hoist the Lombardi, and I can finally die now because the Beloved have won another Super Bowl.

Reach divisional playoffs. Trubisky plays well enough to make this all a mess again next year.

TAKING A STEP UP: Roquan, Kmet, Daniels, Miller
TAKING A STEP BACK: Trevathan, Massie, Quinn (ugh, hate to see that)
