This is unrelated to Bears but looking to see if any of you guys are gun owners. I recently got my Foid card ..it took 6 months.. and looking to know what is a good one for a first time owner and where have you had decent deals buying them. Im looking for a 9mm that necessarily isnt going to be a carry since I'm not licensed for that yet..ive read on Taurus2 or G3 or Caniks T9s..thoughts on what to consider also?

I have a SIG and Beretta, love both of them.

I suggest a p320. It's what the marines use nowadays. Its fully modular too so its very customizable.

It'll get moved.

Doesn't stop you from making threads about your QB crushes in the wrong forum too.

Those are football related. Talking about your guns is not.

Thanks

Also,

Considering how upset you get by harmless football talk, i worry for people in your immediate area knowing you're a gun owner tbh

Yes, I own a gun, that I never shoot.

I suggest you get a gun for personal defense as well.

Growing up and living in chicago, I'd rather take safety into my own hands than the cops. Thanks.

If you consider a carry at some point, then I would not advise buying expensive for carry. Reliable yes, decent shooter, yes, expensive no. Carry pistols get stuffed into glove boxes, dropped, if anything happens, confiscated. And obviously, if you're not going to carry it everyday, because it is too big or too expensive then it isn't right for you.

I don't carry. Glock 19 was my first pistol. If I was to carry and could (jacket weather) it would be the Glock. Otherwise I have a cheap pocket 380 that has nowhere near enough bullets for a 380.
But I never leave the house except to go places IL doesn't allow carrying so AR15. Anything else is just to buy time or provide cover to get to an AR15.

Better get rhe AR15 before its too late and loose it in a boating accident. Glock is on my list as well as the Sig..I believe CPD use Sigs too

You can never go wrong with a glock 19 either.

Reliable as ****.
If you have larger hands consider a glock 45 which has the glock 19 upper but a glock 17 lower (grips). That's what I went with. It is a 9mm do not let the 45 name fool you. Has to do with patents... meh.
