If you have larger hands consider a glock 45 which has the glock 19 upper but a glock 17 lower (grips). That's what I went with. It is a 9mm do not let the 45 name fool you. Has to do with patents... meh.
Small hands so the Glock 19 might do..have to check that out too

Start doing your research several companies are starting to use cheap Indian mim parts like sig is in their firearms. Hard pass unless there are aftermarket replacements

I would go with hk or fn if you want quality and good cs. Also plan on dumping 500 rounds to break them in these new guns arecoming with stiff springs

For guns that may need to serve a purpose other than looking cool at a backyard bbq, I’m an absolu

For carry, any of the small glocks are great. I carry a g27 everywhere(I also have a 9mm conversion barrel for it), a buddy of mine carries a g43 everywhere.

For a bedside or vehicle gun the options are endless. Before you commit try to shoot as many as you can, whether that’s from friends or a range that rents pistols.

If you’re mechanically inclined you could try your hand at your own 80% build. That way you bypass any atf bullshit(check local laws. I’m in CO where that’s not a big deal)

I agree with Hk or Fn. Wheelguns are great too especially for a new owner. A snub 357 fits great into a fannypack if you wanna conceal carry like a boss.

Wassup with the guy who's mad IL wont let him carry around his AR lol?

I live in IL I need to start throwing my SKS in the ****ing trunk of my car?

Serious question. Have you ever needed to use your bedside glizzy?

Thankfully, I have not. But, shit in my neck of the suburbs is getting a little worse. So if you or anyone else is going to play that card, please spare me

Sorry, I’ve gotten quite defensive about any questions along the lines of “why do you need that?”
I just asked if you had to use it. I didnt even know you needed it but now I'm curious as to why lol.

Revolvers are great, new owner or not.

No safety to worry about.
No need to wonder if ya have one in the chamber or not.

You get in trouble and need a weapon, you pull the revolver, point it and shoot. Game over.

But why in the world anyone would carry a .357 is a mystery to me, unless you load it with .38's

Most shootings are 4-6 feet away. Shoot a guy with a .357, the round goes thru him and kills the 9 year old kid playing in his front yard 2 blocks down.

No thanks...

Load it with .38 of course lol, but have the option of .357 is not a bad thing.

Because I have two kids now and I want every advantage I can get. And, I’ve become more interested in them as mechanical devices lately.

Get a carbine in .357 to pair with it like a model 1892 then only 1 type of ammo for your long gun and side arm.
