Harbaugh took over a 1 -11 Stanford program and took them to two consecutive BCS games 3 years later. He was primarily for recruiting Luck who was the #4 rated QB recruit. Four years later Luck was the highest rated QB entering the NFL draft in two decades. It's uneducated posts like yours that helps me determine which future posts to take seriously and which posters are just pulling shit out of their ass
That's pretty harsh but okay. Don't you consider his failure to develop a QB at Michigan an issue? I mean he has had quite a tenure there and hasn't developed a high draft pick that I can remember.

No doubt that he did a great job with Luck at Stanford and then with Kapernick in SF. But its been 9 years and the offense at Michigan hasn't been stellar and no stud QBs. Considering the Bears needs to draft and develop a QB I don't know if Harbaugh is the most qualified candidate for that at this point in his career.

I don't want Harbaugh, and I don't want anyone who is propped up by star players making them look good. Everyone the Bears bring in on the offensive side is always propped up by ridiculous QBs making them look good. The only exception to me would be Kellen Moore. He got Dak a ridiculous contract, and he's got Justin Herbert doing what he's capable of. The fact that he got what he did out of Dak is good enough for me. Ben Johnson and what he's done with Goff is another good looking option imo. Things can change as the season wears on, but I like those two, and have been a fan of Moore for a minute. Ben Johnson would be my leading candidate because Goff is easily the worst QB of those three.

He seems to be doing a decent job with McCarthy, and it isn't like Michigan is known for pumping out QBs. I mean, there's Tom Brady and who else? Chad Henne? Drew Henson? yeah.

Jim just finished the "self-imposed" suspension of 3 games. The NCAA is more than likely going to drop whatever investigation they are doing. If they were to proceed, Jim would absolutely burn it to the ground (which would be great as the NCAA is long overdue for going away).

Yes, this is arguably Jim's best roster, but next year's roster looks damn good as well as he picked up another Top Ten class with a highly rated QB and RB.

If, and big IF, Jim was to leave, it won't be until probably 2025. He loves Michigan more than almost anything and he won't leave them until he is sure he has a successor. That will either be Sheronne Moore (OC) or Grant Newsome.
Some of this just isnt true:

U of M was trying to make an agreement with the NCAA for a 4 game suspension that the NCAA rejected. Then U of M enacted the self imposed 3 game suspension. More punishment IS going to happen, otherwise they would’ve came to the agreement for the longer suspension.

Jim Harbaugh actively tried to leave Michigan two years in a row and was rejected by NFL teams. He has wanted out. He tried interviewing with an NFL team - I believe Minnesota so late into the offseason, that he missed a notable recruitment date.

He for sure wants to leave. It just depends if a team will bite.

Haven't Michigan been extremely good at using the new paradigm in college football to their advantage under Jim Harbaugh? I don't follow NCAA very closely, but my understanding that his ability to adapt is why Michigan has finally turned it around.
No that’s definitely not the reason for why Michigan is doing well lately. They definitely have more ability to pay players but their current roster is not secondary to using the transfer portal or paying players.

I think it might be the transfer portal that I'm thinking of which he has used to such great effect.

Get rid of everyone, Hire Harbaugh as the Head Coach, he might be the only guy we can hire that can coach a QB.

Tired of this. I bet he would jump at the NFL again.
History lesson... McCaskey will NEVER hire a smart guy that wants full control of the team, period. No way around it.

Yep. Do it. Turn it over to him. They have no idea what they are doing. Maybe Warren and Poles stay.

I wouldn't blame any college coach post-NIL wanting to leave. Recruiting is a year-round job, then you have to get them NIL money, then you have to keep your players from leaving in the portal. An endless amount of work really.

Saban bought a huge home in the offseason and rumors of him retiring soon popped up. Will we see career college coaches in the future? I don't care how much money you make 70 hour weeks wear on you.

Can't believe nobody has thought of this before
I get that it's annoying for the idea to continuously be brought up when you're a fan of a franchise whose owners are allergic to doing the right thing. Yes, it does seem like a waste of breath.

Yet even stillit doesn't change that the right thing to do would have been to hire Harbaugh and trade away the bigger bad contracts and not have to blow up the entire team, but still have extra picks a significant cap space moving forward.

I honestly believe had the Bears hired Harbaugh who very well could have gotten Fangio to come back with him, that the Bears would be a team that would make the postseason this year.

Hell, even right now I would like the Bears future if they canned Eberflus. Eberflus SUCKS. Eberfluss staff SUCKS. Shit, even the name Eberflus sounds like a name you'd give to a piece of shit car driving down the road on 4 flat tires. He SUCKS!

For 40 long years I've been watching the McCaskeys showing this fanbase that they have made an artform of fucking up their own wet dream and also fucking up ours too because they felt the need to wake us up to tell us the fucked up their wet dream. I wouldn't be shocked if you've witnessed the incompetence of the McCaskeys for just as long or even longer than me.

None the less the same old same old McCaskey loser routine of passing on the Bruce Arians and Jim Harbaughs, to instead pay washed up consultants to give us the Trestmans, Fox's, Nagy and Eberfluss every fucking.4 year shit sandwich is beyond old.

I know some random goofballs like myself randomly harping for the McCaskeys to finally Harbaugh is annoying and verbatim, yet still IS the right thing for this organization to do.

It wasn't Andy Reid who turned Alex Smith from trash to a very good franchise QB on a dime in one offseason. Jim Harbaugh is the coach turned Smiths game around for the better. It was Harbaugh who was able to get the most out of a one read tuck and run QB Colin Kaepernick.

It's Jim Harbaugh within the collegiate ranks who has rebuilt the Wolverines and with meh QBs like McNamara & McCarthy has overcome the more talented BIG 10 behemoth that is Ohio State.

Even Patrick Mahomes credited his significant development and progress to working with Jim Harbaugh on his own time in the offseason before his first full season as an NFL franchise QB. He didnt credit that to Andy Reid or the coffee fetcher and office brown nose snitch that is Matt Nagy. Mahomes specifically metioned his working with Harbaugh.

That should be our guy and if we all harped like hell for the McCaskeys to finally do the right thing rather than ridicule the notion maybe they would FINALLY do what even they know they should and hire Jim. It seems as if the McCaskeys are against giving one proven commodity like Harbaugh a 10 year 100 million dollar contract. Yet instead would rather pay near twice that for 3 SHITTY coaches over a similar time span.

I know with every God damn inch of my existence that that man Jim Harbaugh I on this earth for the sole purpose of building THIS FRANCHISE to dominance.

I know that you, me and the entire Bears fanbase has finally had enough of the McCaskeys and their traveling SHITSHOW. If the McCaskeys insist on NEVER doing the right thing, then after all of these years it really appears that they insist on not being loyal to YOU, me and the rest of us as customers.

This fanbase really does sound like it is finally ready to walk away from the franchise unless there is a drastic change or the McCaskeys finally stop insisting on doing everything but the right thing.

Sorry for the great wall of text.

FUCKING HIRE JIM HARBAUGH!

For Harbaugh, this is his 9th year at Michigan and it took him 7 to finish in the top 5. Has he even developed a stud QB at Michigan?

Very solid defensive coach. He gets way to much credit for Andrew Luck.

Better off with a true NFL guy that has a history of developing QBs.
This might be fuckin tard post of the year.

Yes, the NCAA rejected the original suspension but there is no way another suspension is coming. Jim will burn down the whole thing before that happens and the new president of the University is way more sports friendly than any of his predecessors. The NCAA knows their case is already week AF and they have enough problems going on with realignment and hovering NIL litigation. They will puff out their chest like they always do but at the end of the day, they aren't going to levy any more sanctions against him (hell, Ill Venmo you $100 if I am wrong and they sanction him after this season, keep this as proof).

Yes, Jim was considering leaving but you left out the part where the University changed his contract, lowering his pay and essentially telling him "Get your Shit together and Beat Ohio State or you are out" after the disastrous 2021 season. You also left out the part where he got his new contract after the 2022 season as well.

Now, I am not saying that Jim won't probably still leave for the NFL at some point, however, his first love is still Michigan. He won't leave until he believes he has a successor ready to take the reigns. I said in my previous post, 2025 would probably be the earliest he would go

My advice to everyone is to hope Michigan wins the national championship,Harbaugh has already stated he'd love to coach the bears.

He is our savior and the only one that can take us to the promise land. He would also bring in a top notch staff.

Harbaugh could volunteer to work for free, and bring a couple of All-Pro players and top coordinators to the team, and the McCaskeys would pass because he would be too much of a risk.

nah M8, 15/hr is da mccaskys status quo.. cant change the market now

Alex Smith & Colin Kaepernick with the help of Greg Roman, a guy who would have done 10 times as much with Fields as this regime.

The Harbaughs pick good staffs and have NFL cache. It’s a statement hire. This is much more than QBs.
