My favorite teams
I haven't seen firefly. Love Asimov but don't know of any shows that came from his writing. As far as sci-fi movies, I like stuff that kubrick and Gilliam did, and blade runner, so pretty short list I guess. Shows? Most seem like the lite category I guess. BG was pretty good. Liked Lexx but it was campy.
Watch Firefly and see for yourself. I spoke out on the first 8 episodes, while the 9th has a hair more science fiction. It's good regardless.
Lexx dropped off after the original Zev was unable to stay because of other commitments. When the star of the show becomes the Brunun G theme... makes you wish the creators developed it better.
Good sci-fi IMO can be light. BTTF is a great example. Some more complex ones can be great as well, like The Matrix.
As far as an Asimov TV show... lol. Who knows. Seems like there is always money behind a project to bring some of Asimov's best works to the screen, and it always fizzles. I'm willing to bet there are at least 3 different book-lines with money thrown at them currently. I know the Foundation led to the Lord of the Rings being made (fun bit of trivia). And IMO, being late is completely fine until someone gets it right. GCS and the executives behind getting Ender's Game to the screen totally settled on a sub par adaptation to get it made, and it was all kinds of backwards.
