Anyone else hate them? Iowa legalized them a few years ago and they SUCK.

Why do they have to be lit off for 30 fucking days at all hours of the night? They scare the piss out of my dog, they wake up my baby, they are loud, annoying and not to mention lighting them over a residential subdivision is a poor idea. For two weeks before July 4th and two weeks after it’s like I live in a war zone (not to disparage an actual war zone).

If you wanna light them off on July 4th or the day before, great. But all summer? GTFO. **** fireworks! Whose with me?

Before last year, I lived in hillbilly central and the height of entertainment was blowing off fireworks non-stop.

I like them during the holiday the way it was intended. But I live on the lake and they let this shit rip daily from may through September

I actually went firework shopping with a lions player today he spent over 13000 on them. I’m not even going to watch them at his house I see enough of that at the house.

A few years back, a kid that lived down the street was running around picking up burnt bottle rockets.
I said "that is nice of you".
The kid said "so and so is giving us 10 cents a piece for them".

Come to find out, it was part of an escalating debris war. Some dude was tired of having flaming sticks dropped on his house, recruited paid labor to collect as many as he could, and dumped em all in his neighbors car.

It wasn't the right thing to do, but I certainly understand why he did it.

I mean it's cool when you have spacious yards or just generally live in a sparsely populated area, but it seems a little much here in the densely populated city of Chicago.

Add in the fact that I live on the top floor of a 131 year old house situated right in the middle of an alley that is way popular for shooting off fireworks and I seriously dread this weekend these days.

The excessive noise is annoying, but I am just thrilled not to be spending July 5th newly homeless while all of my worldly possessions are nothing but a pile of soot & ash.

Between the illegal shit in Wyoming and the legal shit here, I've spent $900 and counting thus far. I'm about to blow my neighborhood up. Three families, six kids. Going to be epic. But, I will NOT light any on any other day. I also hate that shit. Just wait HB, when the kid grows up, this becomes the best holiday. The looks of wonder and amazement is great.

One of my old pooches was bothered by fireworks.
I was able to make it tolerable for him by taking him down to the man cave(in the basement) putting pillows over the windows and comforters over that, and running my fans on high.

For him it worked wonders, because it blocked out the ones that bugged him most- the whistling bottle rockets.

Hell ya brother, enjoy and be safe. As a kid (when fireworks was illegal here) we had to drive to Missouri to buy stuff and we'd do it every summer. I'm surprised nobody lost an eye with the amount of roman candle wars we had. I'm sure you kids will have fun and glad to hear you're not an asshat lighting them off random days of the week like @Chicagosports89 does

We used to go nuts on the 4th. Me and my buddy next door would have parties that would go until morning. One year we managed to set the road on fire. Cops were called and we were given a strong warning that when they came back after shift at midnight that there better be plenty of cold beer. There was along with Jose and weed. Fucking great night.
