Anyone else hate them? Iowa legalized them a few years ago and they SUCK.

Why do they have to be lit off for 30 fucking days at all hours of the night? They scare the piss out of my dog, they wake up my baby, they are loud, annoying and not to mention lighting them over a residential subdivision is a poor idea. For two weeks before July 4th and two weeks after it’s like I live in a war zone (not to disparage an actual war zone).

If you wanna light them off on July 4th or the day before, great. But all summer? GTFO. **** fireworks! Whose with me?

You gonna stand there and tell me you don't like no whistlin bungholes, no spleen splitters, whisker biscuits, honkey lighters, hoosker do's, hoosker don'ts, cherry bombs, nipsy daisers with or without the scooter stick or one single whistlin kitty chaser?

Last Friday someone nearby, here in the Southwest suburbs of Chicago, lit off 60+ minutes of fireworks.

To me, its the same thing with 4th of July that was done to most other holidays, it was taken to the extreme and people decided to make it into weeks/months-long event.

Used to be exciting, 4th of July, fireworks.... because you didn't get to hear/see fireworks all year.

Does it do any good to call the Police?

"Idk @Ares ask the kids in Uvalde."

Oh that got real dark, brane.

I used to be all "**** yeah!" on fireworks.
Get high as ****, drop acid if I had it.
Was still pretty cool with post acid years.
Then one year I decided I had enough and my fireworks seeing\hearing business has come to completion.

I have heard very little fireworks so far this year. Boom here or there, but no long lasting show.

I actually haven't gone to see a firework show in several years now, no one seems interested.

Fireworks were not too big with neighborhood displays when I lived in Brookfield until 2020 with covid. The 4th that year was rainy iirc, but it was amazing sitting out on our balcony watching households almost seem coordinated in taking turns launching 1000s of $ worth for hours on end.

Moving to Indiana right on the border things are always popping off here and there but seems pretty respectful. Closer to the 4th and on the weekend it's going to get nuts. Our neighbors across the street have their rear lots stretch right out to the Calumet River so they gather up friends and family who all bring out a ridiculous amount of mortars and finale packages and shoot them from the banks. Bunch of people from the neighborhood gathered in front of my property, told them to bring chairs this year. Last year it as a a solid 90 minutes of an insane variety, spectacular. And when they get done, people down the street do theirs. People around here seem go stock up on a lot of this stuff, probably because their are so many stores catering to all the Chicago folks buying it for ILLEGAL use in their state, and the pop-up stores gotta sell out end of season.

In Florida, it would be more like Florida Man duct taped roman candles to alligator, lit them, then released into a Waffle House at 3am.
^ not wrong!

My buddy does his own shows for NYE & the 4th. He's got the hookup on the cheap in bulk. Also started programming them to music with his girlfriend singing Zombie later in the show @28:46. She's awesome. He really got the timing synched pretty well this time too. Obv. better & were much closer in person vs. this pano view which was needed to catch it all. To get any closer would be dangerous! Some of these blew up pretty much right above us. Pretty incredible for a private show:
