Looking at the changes with the DC and OC spot is this the first time that that Bears actually have the potential to grow a coaching tree? I know Buddy left to be a HC in Philly. Not sure what Ditka did aside from that. When you look at Gase and Fangio they have already been rumored to be potential HC jobs. In short I think Pace/Fox are building a culture where smart, upward moving coordinators/coaches want to spend time in Chicago while they are building their resume.

That's a huge step from what was seen by the previous regimes:

- Buddy system
- Hiring wild cards
- Having a tough time filling a crutial spot and having to settle on someone who will actually take the job

Anyway, as many know I'm not directly a Bears fan, but as an outside I can honestly say this looks like the right way to grow your leadership group. Helping people get to the next step in their careers is a great way to attract motivated people that want to be measured by results.

But as Bears fans in 5 years everyone will be bitching about how everyone is always taking our coaches...

As long as 5 years from now they STILL keep wanting our coaches, I'll be solid. Means we have capable people always sliding in when another leaves.

I'm just glad we seem to have a coach with some connections. Whether or not it helps remains to be seen but I don't think it can hurt any more than our recent coaching regimes.

I'm sure Vic Fangio has connections.

His name sounds like the kind of guy who would have connections.
