Ha! Awesome shit as always. Yeah, we do want to just relax. Just wanted to make sure there wasn't something "must see" that I was missing. I am the guy who went to Paris and didn't see the Eiffel Tower after all. :D

I would probably love the charter you mentioned... would kill the wife though.

The more I look into this I don't think we're even going to get a car. Just take a shuttle or taxi over there and park our asses on the beach for 4 days.

Good plan in my opinion, save the money on a rental car. Being at Clearwater Beach for 4 days will serve you well. Plenty of things to do just on Clw Beach. Jetski's, parasail, the beach itself, restaurants, bars, fishing, picture taking, shopping, ect ect ect. You'll have a great time.

The Hilton is a central spot on Clw Beach. Right in the middle of everything. Go out the beach access of the Hilton and bang a right, 3 minute walk along the beach and you'll be at 2 good places to chill, Frenchy's(Rockaway) & Palm Pavilion. Both have great live bands/singers guitarists everyday, pretty good food, and reasonably priced. Good chill spot.

Frenchy's and Palm Pavilion are only separated by a big ass parking lot. Right next to eachother. Get some stone crabs if they have them available.

Shephards, you'd prolly want to take the trolley, but you could walk if you wanted. 3 minute trolley ride, prolly a 30 minute walk.

Make sure you and your wife get a good tan before you come, or else you'll be hating life after day 1 at the beach.

All I got to say is wear a damn helmet if you go in that *****!

September?, I missed this part/assumed you were going now.

Unfortunately, September on the west coast is generally about 92, very humid, with rain on and off.

And the Gulf water temp that time of year is bathwater.

If you move it up 6 weeks, you'll still get off-season rates and the first cool front will have passed.

I hear ya, but it has to be then. Only time that works with our schedule. 92 doesn't bother me though. I live in Texas. Probably be 102 back home. :)

One more tip if I may, avoid restaurants in that area who specialize in the following:

A. BBQ.
B. Seafood, sounds odd but the Tampa area has a lot of bad seafood restaurants...for whatever reason.

If you like a good steakhouse:

There or Bern's Steak House is good...where you'll probably find Lovie Smith, Jerry Angelo, and Lou Piniella all having dinner together...J/K.:D

Bern's is awesome...when I went there Jerry Jones was sitting a couple tables away from me.

Last few years we haven't had the consistent rain in Sept. like usual, but damn that water is so awesome

Well, not just cold. But cold / overcast / shitty for like a week at a time...then back to 80....then back to shitty again. All winter long. At least over here it's been like that.

Yesterday it was cold but sunny all day. Today it is warm and overcast with chance of rain pretty much all afternoon.
