Assuming that he does get drafted by the Bulls, and that our roster remains practically the same, Tyrus better watch out. He better watch out because Tyler will work his butt off to get that starting position, and Tyrus better have his A game ready.

You made a lot of good points, but I think this one is most interesting. Having a guy like Hansbrough behind Tyrus will either break him or really make him work his ass off.e

I was thinking the same thing the other day regarding Tyler's influence on the rest of the team. Tyrus and Noah would really have to work their butts off in practice with this kid around, and hopefully he can spur some development in Tyrus's motor.

Heck, maybe he can teach Rose something about drawing contact and fouls.

Competition at the PF spot would be great for TT. His minutes have largely been entitlement (#2 pick) and a lack of another option at the 4. If Hansbrough can come in, play great defense, rebound, and hit the occasional jumper, and NOT make stupid decisions night in and night out, then he will give Tyrus a run for his money.

With that said, Hansbrough should not be a starting PF in this league. If he is our best option next year (over Tyrus), this team will be in trouble. I like him more when he cmoes off the bench for 15-20 minutes a night.

Bottom line.....trade thomas and/or the pick for a real PF.

I disagree with the idea that Tyrus has gotten entitlement minutes. He was clearly better than PJ Brown and played less minutes then him in his rookie year. He was outrebounding, outblocking, outscoring, and was more efficient with a much higher PER.

I think he's outplayed Nocioni for most of his time here and was stuck behind him as well. The team played better when they made the switch from Nocioni to Tyrus when Nocioni was hurt during his rookie year.

Overall, I think Tyrus plays at a level that's deserving of 28 minutes or so a night. Look at the other big men who play minutes in that range and they're all really flawed as well. He actually has a PER over 15 this season as well.

The thing I love most about Tyler is the ability to draw fouls. I think alot of that will translate to the league and be a big reason why is becomes a solid option. We aren't talking about a good guy at drawing fouls, we talking about one of the better of all-time. He's awesome and drawing contact as soon as the defender flinches on a pumpfake.

You guys are trying to have it both ways with the Tyrus Thomas minutes. It's not okay when a veteran is taking his minutes, he needs development time. But if a rookie threatens to come in, Tyrus will get motivated to fight for his minutes since up till now his minutes have all been entitlement minutes. I think the fact is that Tyrus Thomas will determine how well Tyrus Thomas does in the league, and now that he's established and is starting he'll have to motivate himself.

If Tyler has a chance to start, then we are in big trouble, I think he will be a huge bust, his game does not impress me, his release is too slow, average rebounder, might be below average rebounder and defender in terms of the NBA, we don't need another energy guy, this guy has Mark Madsen written all over him, and remember he was schooling kids at Stanford, personally lets trade those picks

Those fouls Tyler got at UNC, he will not get in the pros, Derrick Rose couldn't get calls his rookie year, and he literally got beat up
