Forte is a Former All Pro and headed to Dallas?

The Dallas Cowboys have made it no secret that they are interested in still possibly trading for a high level running back.

Earlier in the week news came out that a new player may be on the trading block for the Dallas Cowboys.

Matt Forte has made it clear that he would like to get a new deal during the offseason. The Bears have also communicated that they want a two headed backfield which would limit Forte’s touches.

This blows the door open to the Cowboys coming in and possibly stealing away Forte from the Bears. Forte could request a trade from the Bears and sign an extension with the Cowboys that could make him a Cowboy for a few more years.

This could be huge, he’s still got a lot left in the tank!

When he is a RB who'll be 30 by the end of the season and who isn't under contract much longer, it might be if you can get something of value in return. I doubt they'll be offering enough though. How much is Forte worth to us for a one yr when it's clear we aren't going anywhere this yr?



Heck, a lot of the board seemed to love Langford, lets see them root him on as are starter.

I would trade Forte to get picks to get younger and hopefully better. By the time the Bears are thinking about competing he will be retired.

That being said here is some common sense.

Forte makes 10 million, even if he signs an extension and lowers his cap he is still making big money. The Cowboys cannot afford that.

The Cowboys OL is a machine, they didn't pay Murray because of it so why would they pay forte?
