Wow, this is a testament to how pathetic Trestman's offense was.

Actually, Forte's also leading the league in receiving..

I think it's time to start thinking of Mr. Forte in different terms.

It should be very interesting to see how it plays out. So much football left to play in 2015 but if he remains healthy and productive this year. I can see it being a tough decision on whether or not to pay him top RB money.

Of course the teams overall production will go a long in helping decide this. If they think they can make a run for the playoffs in 2016. Then Forte is much more likely to be back next year. If they see it as another year of rebuilding, then Forte is much less likely to be given a fat contract.

Like I said though, it will be something everyone is interested in seeing how it goes down.

I made a mistake on that one and deleted the post. He's not leading in receiving; I had forgotten to update the columns when I went back. My bad.

Pretty cool to see Cj2k back doing legit things. I had left him for dead as a player and then after the whole taking a bullet thing I assumed nobody would touch him. He was still in street clothes during the preseason.

Forte's burst this year is evident. He looks quicker and his cuts seem more precise. Falling forward alot more too.

It's fucking weird to me how many different Shades of Matt Forte I've since he's been drafted.

NP he is still up there in receiving for RB's and should remain that way the entire year.

A lot of truth in this post.

I believe that Forte is the leader in total yards from scrimmage in the NFL

If you keep him, it's purely for the fans. This production can't last long enough for the Bears to be a legit SB contender. Pace would have to become the best GM and hit on many draft picks.

Agreed. I think the zone scheme, offensive line hogs, and playcalling (including Jay checking at the line) have boosted Forte from 3.5ish over 4 yards so far this year. The holes are there and the gaps are wider than they have been since he's been with the team...this scheme makes it easier for him to get yards. Guys like Kyle Long help too, and BFF Cutler is an unselfish quarterback. He's smart at least at the line and knows what kind of guy he has behind him in Forte. Let Forte get 4 yards at a time if the look is favorable. 4 yards at a time translates to manageable 3rd downs and opens up the playbook.

P.S. on that note I've noticed that we've had way more manageable 3rd downs this year than in the past. I like how Gase is calling the games. He's a smart dude.
