"There's no scraps in my scrapbook" is a great senior quote.

I remember that... some rich kid at school supposedly had one.
That was the rumor... I never saw one.
Shit we never had more than 3 channels plus PBS.

He played Spilotro associate Frank Cullota in Casino. Cullota ratted out my dad's cousin back in the sixties.

Wasn't Blockbuster the greatest?

Yes, I have family that worked there. Used to get free movies all the time as a kid. Then one day this little start up named Netflix came by and asked Blockbuster if they'd buy them. Blockbuster laughed and said no way.....

Oops!

I always hated Blockbuster, they killed out the mom and pop video places run by film fanatics. You could actually have a conversation about movies with those people. Blockbuster hired the same kids as McDonald's. No offense BaBa, but not exactly film buffs, they thought Steven Seagal was a great actor.

None taken. I would agree. My positive memories deal more with getting loads of free shit from them.

I might have felt differently about BB if I got free stuff.

I should correct my previous post. Blockbuster did not kill all the family owned movie rental places, the ones that survived rented 90% porn, so that was depressing. If you wanted mainstream new releases you had to go to BB.

I believe Frank Vincent would have approved.

3rd day at the top of the Bar, that is Robert De Niro territory.

Ya'll are just a smidge older than me so I get it.

We would spend hours roaming the aisles picking out the movie. It was magical going up and down seeing the pictures on the box and reading the synopsis and actors. I remember vividly taking the movie "The Wizard" (Fred Savage) back to the Blockbuster and asking their help to find out what band did the song "Send me an Angel." These two teenagers working there pause the video on their TV in the back and write down all the information from the credits and told me. My mom found the bands cassette tape and I was in heaven.

RIP BB

There is this place in Mesa AZ called The House of Used. Fucking awesome. You can buy, and rent both movies and games. It's doing well TBT. I take the kids there, they love it.
