Fair points, but I'm hardly pounding the table or fanboying for him, I made a comment that I would have preferred to allocate the money which was committed to Grady instead to Hufanga (or Greenlaw for that matter). Then a few people commented on how much Hufanga sucks which IMO is ignorant. I watched nearly half his college games and nearly all his games as a Niner, when healthy he is legit top-10. And yes, when healthy, but he's still very young and promising.

Oh, and it's not like Grady isn't coming off a substantial injury as well.
Jarret is two years removed from his injury and played all 17 last season. And his entire career he's been a model of consistency as far as availably goes. The guy doesn't miss time, generally speaking.

He tore his ACL in 2023 and his performance seemed to slip in 2024.

"In the 2024 NFL season, Grady Jarrett, a defensive tackle for the Atlanta Falcons, had a 7.4% pressure rate and a career-low 62.1 PFF overall grade."

I am def not saying he sucks and I have nothing against the guy and hope he works out but, again, I would have preferred to trade and draft a DT instead and allocated his contract value elsewhere.

CCS has figured Poles does absolutely nothing in Chicago except fetch water for Warren, Allen, and Johnson.

Well done
Not what I said but ok! Funny how fans spent the last 3 years bashing Poles and then all of a sudden think he’s a genius.

I don't feel the Bears have a real vocal leader on the DL and I think they saw Jarrett as an opportunity to provide that and also provide mentorship to Gervon. I wouldn't be at all shocked if they end up cutting ties with Jarrett in 2 years when Gervon is due for a new contract. I also would expect they'd draft another guy still if the right one is available to them. He's kinda like the defensive Thuney in that these are guys with a history of being among the most respected people in the room. The Bears just need to get the young guys in the room to learn from the vets... and we had no linemen as captains last year and I expect both of these guys will be. All to say, what Jarrett provides outside of game time will be very valuable also. I hope he's also pretty good on the field as well.

Ohh I don't disagree, first year returns off of ACL tears are usually down years, especially for the big men in the trenches. If they return to form it's almost always two seasons removed from injury.
