THEN WHY HASN'T HE PRODUCED? 3 sacks for 35" arms...damn imagine if he had 37' arms he might get 5 sacks
Every teams defensive scheme and coordinator is different. Do we know Indy's DC? What we do know is D. Allen has a type.

He wants huge DEs that are hard to block one on one but also contain the edge against the run. This signing allows Sweat to play more to his speed and athleticism instead of being stuck as the best run defender outside of Billings.

$16M is mediocre pay for a 26yo DE, the DC believes he has untapped potential and fits his scheme. Allen is an excellent DC so that's good enough for me for now.

Did he produce after his injury??
Yes. And he has still been disruptive, opening up opportunities for others on the line and LBs behind him.

He’s not what he once was, but he is still a solid DL who can still produce, especially in a rotation.

After my Bijan experience, I’ve done my best not to believe this was a possibility. Now, I can see Jeanty at 10. They’ll probably go DE and the top OL in the second.
I think Jeanty may even go as high as 6 to the Raiders.

Soooo edgy lolol

"Why can't you just blindly celebrate signing a 31 year old DT coming off his worst year and a 3 sack DE??" is how I'm reading this
Who will Bears fans trust……A nobody on a football forum or Dennis Allen a well respected NFL defensive coordinator? Hmmm tough question.
