Myles Garrett is far different from a good DE…he’s arguably the best defensive player in the NFL. He’s not getting that at 10
This is correct. But you aren’t just spending the 10th.

I think i'm now leaning towards a Mathew Judon or Demarcus Lawrence and then still draft a DE with one of the top 3 picks who could come in and play behind those two and Sweat for a year or two.I certainly hope they don’t trade for Garrett. This team needs a lot more than a DE and Poles needs to nail several of these early picks.
And I wouldn’t be surprised if they went with Chase Young.
Would love Mack to return but I would assume he chases a ring
If they can sign one of the top G's and then get another legit starter at G or C then i'm all for drafting DE, 3T, DT at #10.This isnt what I want, its what I think they will do. Really suspect they are going DE in the first unless someone special falls.
I would bet on Young plus a rookie. Agree that a DE will be draftedI think i'm now leaning towards a Mathew Judon or Demarcus Lawrence and then still draft a DE with one of the top 3 picks who could come in and play behind those two and Sweat for a year or two.

The thing that really bothers me about C.Young is now it's been confirmed in New Orleans that he takes plays off or doesn't give full effort all the time just like what was said about him in Washington. I wouldn't hate it because he still racks up QB pressures but we need hits and sacks because as i've been saying since we traded for him, Sweat is not a big time sack producer. The most he's ever had was the year we traded for him which he had 12 total sacks between the Bears and Wash.I would bet on Young plus a rookie. Agree that a DE will be drafted
Gerald, we hardly knew ye.
The Bengals were part of the “most teams”.Wow. This is the big fish most teams were looking to sign.
Correct…you’re spending the #10 and the bears would very likely go DL anyway there…and also a future 1st which would likely be a late 1st round pick …plus some $$$ on a Garrett extension. I’m more than good with that. Whatever DL the bears would draft at 10 wouldn’t be in the same stratosphere as Garrett anyway. This is correct. But you aren’t just spending the 10th.
Ummmmmmmm.............YES PLEASE!!!!!
A lot of people think the cap is going to be increased BIG TIME after this upcoming season. If it goes up significantly, that contract doesn’t look too bad.The numbers being tossed around social media to sign Trey Smith are pretty silly. People are saying $23-$25M... Hell No.
How has that gone for Poles so far?A lot of people think the cap is going to be increased BIG TIME after this upcoming season. If it goes up significantly, that contract doesn’t look too bad.
Still, I think if we get Zeitler, Dalman or Kelly, and drafted a few olinemen (preferably an OT to start at guard and a guard to take over when Braxton Jones leaves next year), then I think this OLine still looks really good without Smith. Maybe Kiran is ready to go as a G when Zeitler retires, or we add another another project G. There are a lot of options, we might be able to get quality production at guard for next season without spending top dollar. I am starting to think throwing a ton of money at smith is desperation. I hope we are able to fix the position without breaking the bank.
Why is no one talking about Brandon Scherf?
