Of course, sometimes Fisch will totally redeem himself:

Anyway, back to the topic at hand:

It's going to be difficult to set a threshold for which if someone crosses that threshold, you discipline them. If you want this to be a fun environment you have to allow for some friendly jawing and teasing. There should be a report function for posts if you think something is offensive. I guess it has to be taken on a case-by-case basis, but common sense often applies. Unfortunately, as has been stated earlier, common sense often doesn't apply on the interwebs.

My best suggestion is to set up a sticky thread in each forum that says "no racism, homophobia or inflammatory personal attacks" or something to that effect. That still allows for some douchebaggery without having people go overboard.

There is a report function. I agree with what you and Rush have both said though.

Funny that all of all the sports threads going on - this is the most active thread right now.

If CCS was twitter, #FriendlyReminder would be trending.

Thats probably because the Bulls aren't doing shit and nobody cares about the Bears anymore. I know there are other forums, but I dont follow them. :shifty:

That won't help Rice.

Some posters just do it to do it.

I'd suggest setting up a rules thread in the mod forum, every mod agrees on it, then we sticky it to every subforum on this site. If the posters can't or won't read it, they get three strikes and they're permabanned.

Done.

I have an idea. You could have the board automatically replace those words with their British slang definitions. F*g = cigarette and f*gg*t = bundle of sticks. When people did use those words, their posts would be much funnier, less offensive and they'd stop using them pretty quickly. :)

If you want to be like the big boys in way of finances, then it's more than a homosexual slur that needs to change. If being open is more to your liking which it certainly shows at CCS (which I am not at all saying is a bad thing), then your finances will be affected negatively.

You know, thats where the term came from. Gays would be burned at the stake, and people would say, "throw on another *bundle of sticks*."

I don't ever use those words anyway and people probably shouldn't because they're offensive. But, whatever, that's just my opinion.

:office:
The last time we had active ajax functions running, the site would crash every hour or so. (Live Topic feature)
