Too much money....sorry....he's not worth that much...that's nearly triple what he made last year.

No it isn't, plus with his age, and how he played in the playoffs with Bolland, what would a two time 20 goal scoring 23 year old be worth? Try to keep in mind that Bolland (who I love to death) has never had a 20 goal season.

Three years is perhaps a year too much, but I'm cautiously optimistic that he can regain his playoff form.

I struggle to see him as a front line guy though, which means he'll be prone to slumps; the same kind of slumps that got guys like Ruutu, Bourque and Samsonov shipped off. When he's not scoring, he's got to make sure he consistently contributes in enough other areas.

Both Ruutu and Samsonov were playing on our top like, I don't see Frolik going 20 games pointless like Samsonov did. If Frolik can score 20 goals and 20 assists I would be very happy.

Well, his 3 goals in 28 games upon his arrival was pretty close to that kind of slump. He does have a track record, though, which I suppose decreases the uncertainty a bit.

Sure, me too.

Yes, but at the same time it could be said he was being used improperly.

2.3 average per year?

That's a great cap hit in this increasing contract market.

Frolik is going to have a solid year this one and we have shored up our RW position now.....I am happy.

This does however leave bad news about Campoli...which worries me. I don't like our 5/6 pairing without him.

Campoli seems to think he's worth big money. He's not. **** him.

If that happens, the contract is easy to ship off. Either way, we win.

Same here Wolfie....I thought around 2mil....kinda thought/guessed he was asking for the 2.5mil-3mil range...based on what some others got.

So 2.3mil...but being locked up for 3 years is good too...all seems fair.

I do think with Montador getting 2.75mil...Campoli wants no less....but I don't think he should get that (being a RFA still).

As it sits now,Hawks have 23 players "under contract"...without Campoli they have $3,924,038 in cap space. Figuring if/when Campoli signs...then Kruger or Smith start in Rockford...that will add another 800-900K to the cap, to keep the roster at 23.

Its really amazing what Scooter Boy did with the cap this off season. Going from one of the worse, to a really good position - not just this year, but next. It's amazing what good contracts do for a club. For the forwards...you get the "core" at the 5mil plus...and then slotted under the 3mil. None of those "tweeners" in the 3-5 range. (Assuming Sharp will be in that 5mil group soon). Olesz and Bolland weren't Scooter signings.

Yup. And people need to keep in mind that those of us who like Frolk on the team and think he's going to continue to slot in beautifully (barring injuries) are not necessarily just feeling this way only we because we know of the two 20-goal seasons in FLA (which are drool-worthy to be sure!) or because of these past Playoffs---his game started to turn around or revert to form in general in May and he carried his great Hawks post-season (and for him his first NHL post-season) play into some great play for the Czech Republic in the World Championships too. I think it's all about stability and being in systems that promote and reward his type of game---it eventually all starts to wash over his game and the results start to rise to the surface.

Why am I not shocked your are 'disappointed' once again in the Hawks.

2.3mil seems about right. Now he has to get to the 20g mark again, at minimum. If he plays with a guy as offensively gifted as Bolland is, it shouldn't be a problem.

I never said I was disappointed in this deal. I like Frolik and he is an upgrade over Skille. I said I thought it was too high but that $2.3M appears to be the new norm. Read my post next time first before trying to troll me.
