2026 1, 2, 2, 2, 3, 4,4

Patience for another year or two
Interesting prospect group in college.
IDK...

I'd like to see us focus on quality over quantity with this year's deadline but holding their cards and bargain hunting or seeing who hits free agency is good too.

If they passed on Demigod and Cristall searching for D and goalie stocks(Levshunov and Gajan), expect a huge investment in Defense and goalie again next two drafts. They like their forwards and already have to move a bunch of valuable assets as it is.

I'd say the biggest targets for disappointment right now are like Allen and Levshunov potentially, Dachs health, another goalie to step up next to Soda.

Korchinski and Vlasic look like studs.
Rinzel and Levshunov have alot of potential to be solid blue liners.

Phillips may surprise.

Demigod makes me sad not to have, but if we can trade some young defensiveman for a center it will be ok.

Like Danato, Allen, a couple firsts, plus Kaiser and say Lardis? People gotta listen to our phone call earnestly right?

I heard Rantenan is back on the market already. That's something to consider in sign and trade.

Phillips will really be a surprise considering the hawks traded him months ago

Well fucknA, why is this dotard running the hawks allergic to big strong athletes. My god he's the opposite of a size queen.

Ludwinski is a forward
Specifically an undersized 20yo left handed center that is struggling with jump to AHL.

I didn't love the pick, but only Poitras(Bruins) and Hutson(Canadians) have impressed in NHL so far taken after.

Well ..the Russian cowboy will probably be a thing.

Vlasic-Levshunov
Rinzel-Korchinski
Crevier-Kaiser

Allen

As it stands now I see this shaking down in a couple years. Likely Crevier gets moved but with Vlasic they are kinda of an identity if on separate lines.

Danato-Bedard-Michayev
Nazar-Teuvo-Slaggert
Dach-Moore-Bertuzzi
Marroon-Reichel-Foligno

Question at @LordKOTL

The nuances of a good NHL defenseman still elude me to an extent. There are likely many ways to get the job done with the traits you got.

Keith to me was the best fast break odd man defender imaginable. His last second poke while splayed out, body contorted into a Hollywood war grimace, and repeating the seeming miracle a dozen times per game was easy to spot (this trait facilitated Q's attacking offense as much as anything).

Hedman back checking and just taking possession from anyone and everyone 30 minutes a game was easy to see and to me the most severe ice tilter I have seen in my life in his prime.

My question though is in regards to the Chara mold and our double velociraptor bad Maggie duo.

I can see that in addition to his build, Vlasic has some skill and natural hands. He can keep possession with an accurate pass and not have to defend a chase against every tall man's weakness ..a rough first step or two.

If Vlasic is somewhere like in a poor man's Chara category ...

Where does Crevier rank and what are his strengths and weaknesses? Is he viable to retain in the future? Will he be a second or third pairing?

I dont want to see them together, but I can see they balance out a good skater with offensive ability and a quick first step, bringing length and grit to any pair.

I also don't want to lose Crevier just because there is hope behind him in highly drafted prospects that as we know is doubtful to fully materialize.

Kaiser has stepped up his game too, where do you see these two shaking out the next 3 years and who would you pair them with and why?

If Crevier stuck as the 7th D-man, was used in match-ups as Vlasic insurance to our identity it would not upset me to see Allen or others get moved.

Korchinski in my opinion is gonna be step for step with Levshunov to win our 1A money.

They are built similarly and could pair nicely with the raptors?

I'd need to see more of Crevier, but so far he doesn't look like the size-for-size's-sake-but-nothing-else like Svedberg was. Maybe a poor-man's Seabrook or Hedman? I don't know yet.

I think we won't see the pairings shake out for a year or two more. We pretty much know what we have in Vlassic to the point of there being no real surprises (who is in a bit of a downturn like Bedard at the moment). Kaiser might be the odd guy out. Del Mastro is showing some promise but it's still early. Both of them are likely bottom-6 if they stay.

Korch and Leshie seem like they'll be offensive fill-ins for them top-4 if either or both are kept. This year neither seemed like the defensive liability that Brodie and Joines were, but I don't want them out there against Ovechkin with the game on the line. Leshie in particular looked like he could QB a powerplay pretty well (it is still early). Korch might end up as tradebait especially if he doesn't show progression from what he showed this season.

The problem is this early with most of our defense, projections are about as worthless as your average Democrat and/or Republican. The initial projection was that Seabrook was going to be better than Keith (he wasn't, but was still very good for many years), Keith would be O-only like his 1st season (he wasn't--he could play solid D), and that Hjammer would be the 2nd coming of Lidstrom (He wasn't--a D-stud but didn't have Lidstom's O).

Plus, as it stands now we still have Murphy and Brodie to worry about--and at least Murphy isn't as useless as a ****-flavored lollipop like Brodie is. I still think next season we'll be cycling guys in and out.

Plus, the defense we get from the FWDs will play into things. We don't have a Toews or Hossa out there, and Bedard is a lot like Kane in the (lack of) D he provides. Unless we get long-term players up front who can play defense at a high level it's going to make the blueliner's job harder. Some guys show promise but not to the level that the previous build had in 2010-2015.

I am intrigued by what Davidson decides to do to win.

If Bedard won't sign an extension the window to win gets very short.

If he signs before the draft I think we can carry on but make value decisions, possibly creating a decade of playoff runs.

If he doesn't sign things should and will appear desperate and they have to push in all their chips for a two year push to prove they are worthy.
