Paul Richardson will he the high priced Markus Wheaton this year.
Agreed.
He is the riskiest of the 2nd tier signings. Even this year, which was his best by far, was relatively inefficient.

Then you are crossing your fingers and hoping that they match this seasons production and do not revert to the averages of their careers.
In Richardson's case you are also hoping he stays healthy.
You are talking about 2 players with next to no career consistency. Both could go full Markus Wheaton on us.
If you are dehydrate and walking in the desert and you run across a 7-11 that has 2 bottles of bottled water left, 1 is 12oz for $2 and one is 24oz for $5. You have $6, which do you buy?
The Bears are WR parched.
Depends on how you look at it. Also talking about 2 players that are 25-26 and just produced the most they have in their career based on health and more opportunity. You said earlier you're worried about Wilson with more targets, but then you discount the fact that he (and Richardson) both improved with more targets. The only thing Landry has is that he has had those targets.
It's fine and good to know what he'll do with a lot of targets. But it's also counterproductive to give him that many targets because he doesn't do enough with them.
No I am paying extra $1 for the quality 24oz bottle I can see. Not trying to save a dollar on the 2 bottles he has below the counter that may just be empties (Robinson with his 1 reception and blownout knee) or his warm piss (mediocre Sammy Watkins).Don't know what the hell point you are trying to make, but the 12oz bottle is a better buy. Can buy 2 of them for the price of 1 24 oz.

Money should not factor as much into the decision as it is for most people here.
The money difference is not going to have any long term impact on the Bears.
This is the type of desperate need where you can become a little undisciplined with the cap because
1. We have the room
2. We have 4 cheap years of Trubisky to maximize
3. We need the offense to take a huge step in 2018
I honestly care LEAST about the money than everything else. Landry has shown he needs 160 targets to be effective. But has also shown when he gets 160 targets his team is not as effective. Bottom line.
Based on their career numbers [catch %, YPC, TDs/catch] and based on 124 targets, which is the most of a WR in the Reid era in KC the following free agent/recently re-signed WRs would produce
Landry, 88 catches, 889 yards, 5 TDs
Davante Adams, 73 catches, 870 yards, 8 TDs
Allen Robinson, 65.7 catches, 926 yards, 7 TDs
Sammy Watkins, 55.7 catches, 885 yards, 7 TDs
