Well, looks like another dictator has been removed permanently from office.

SIRTE, Libya (AP) — Libya's information minister said Moammar Gadhafi was killed Thursday when revolutionary forces overwhelmed his hometown, Sirte, the last major bastion of resistance two months after the regime fell. Amid the fighting, a NATO airstrike blasted a fleeing convoy that fighters said was carrying Gadhafi.

Lot's of bad guys going down on Obama's watch (No, I'm not giving him the credit), but I fear it doesn't matter much as they will likely be replaced with guys equally as bad, only maybe have different allegiances

I concur. However, it is also nice to see them fall. Just like Hussein, this guy was taunted so bad back in the 80's until a few cruise missiles went through his window.

Sort of funny how these guys can hide in bunkers and just do whatever they want...however, inevitably...they are found and taken out. Still weird though...NATO?

Oh definitely, I didn't mean to make it look like I wasn't thrilled that all these guys aren't getting taken out. I didn't read the details, I assume it's NATO? But is it US led NATO?

Gotta be good moral for the armed forces guys to have these big names get taken out ever now and then. Maybe it's an extra reminder of why they serve? With as ungrateful as people seem toward the armed forces sometimes. It's gotta feel good to get a win like these.

Yeah, only Pubs - because of their sound policies - get credit when foreign regimes - they really have no control over - collapse.

No, I meant that I didn't want to give credit to anyone because I didn't want to veer this the wrong way. I would gladly give Obama credit but I don't' know enough about the circumstances of the downfall of these guys to do it. Plus at that point I was talking in blanket terms of several leaders going down recently and didn't want to give blanket credit. Not only do I have no idea of what direct role that he had in bringing these guys down, but I have no idea if he has any hand in it at all other than being briefed with what is happening. So no... it has nothing to do with Republican - Democrat. But thanks.

Hey now. I never malign the good men and women of our armed services. I just malign the politicians at the top.

As for Gadafi? Same as Bin Laden or Hussein. My answer is not a cheer, but more of a "Good. Needed to be done. Who's next?"

Was he actually killed by an airstrike/drone strike, or small arms fire while resisting capture by rebels?

After reading some of the reports wouldn't surprise me if he was captured, beaten and then summarily executed. Not sure we will know for sure exactly what happened. Way over due for his dirt nap.

There are some videos and many pictures on the web now. He was trying to escape in a convoy which came under small arms fire. They dragged him out of the truck or car and put two in him.

HOLY SHIT. is that the report, or was there confirmed video of that? I don't want to see it but you know how these things get started.

Sweet Jesus... I don't know why but I feel like I would have preferred an airstrike... The chasing him down dragging him out and putting two shots in him makes it seem so uncivilized and third worldly... More like an assassination than a political removal. I prefer my assassinations faceless I guess, haha. I'm just glad it's done.

We need to do a true service to freedom and democracy everywhere and teach the rebels how to work a cell phone camera

It appears the Libyan rebels did the deed, so the ACLU can only wax poetic on the inhumanity of it.

Maybe the ACLU should set up shop in Libya.

I'm sure they'd be well received.

You mean like he treated his 'constituents'?
