yup...Hawks won that game vs the wild in spite of themselves. I pointed out that they played a similar game vs the Blues and lost....wanna argue how great they were last night?

The result was the same. How they got there? Wildly different. For starters, the Blues scored 2 power play goals in their entire series against the Hawks. The Kings got 2 in the 3rd period alone. So the "same shitty play" assertion by you is off.

Youre right..I apologize...Hawks are great..Especially last night...Nothing to fix on that team

I was merely pointing out that is was the Hawks special teams that faltered last night. It was not the same shitty play. It was different shitty play.

I look forward to you showing up after the next Blackhawks loss and declaring that the "same shitty play" cost them another one. Maybe this time the Hawks will give up 3 shorthanded goals that you'll ignore.

Are you trying to argue that the Hawks can have a bad game...? like that is your point? Ok, conceded... yes they can have a bad game.

I only ever argued with you during that game against the Wild..... called you out on your lack of hockey knowledge and the Hawks destroyed the Wild, picked em apart while you whined they ought to be doing something different to win.

If you wanna argue the Hawks are not perfect I am not the right guy to argue with.... I am critical of them when they deserve criticism.... their passing was awful during the Blues and Wild series but got better in this series.... their energy on the top 2 lines was noticeably lacking in a few games last series..... their Power Play was pathetic both in getting the puck in the zone and in setting up their PP strategy and in executing that strategy for the first 2 series.... I can list lots of stuff they should do better, but I list specific examples of lines and players who can and should do better and I can do that cause I know the team and the sport.

If you want to be taken seriously actually learn about hockey and make intelligent criticism instead of sounding like a whiny teenager watching football going "OMG HE THREW AN INTERCEPTION TO DA OTHER TEAM HE TOTES SUXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX"

It's like watching an NFL team give up 200 rushing yards in one loss and 500 passing yards in another then turning around and saying "same shitty defense."

While technically true, there's far more than just the "same shitty defense" happening.

The failures on the PK were what started the Hawks downfall last night and that hasn't been the case for the 2nd half of the regular season and the postseason.

Ares....I never said I was a hockey expert..In fact, I stated Im not even a hockey fan...But I clearly pointed out you dont have to be an expert to know when a team is playing shitty

You Hawks Homers cant seem to grasp that

The Hawks are terribly inconsistent, fall asleep, and give up leads. In fact, the only consistency they show is the consistency to fall asleep and let opponents back into the game..Sometimes it bites em, sometimes it doesnt

Does that make me one of the smart posters?..probably not!

There is nothing wrong with being a casual fan BB.... but you are rubbing people the wrong way when you throw out generalizations about a team playing a sport you admit you do not know much about. I know you can't help yourself from doing it..... just accept the fact that no one on this board is going to jump on board your train of generalizations about a Hawks team that won the Stanley Cup a year ago and took out arguably one of the strongest teams in the playoffs in the St. Louis Blues and who tore in to these same LA Kings a year ago and sent them home to play golf.

There is much more evidence of the Hawks being a great team than a bad team right now and you making generalizations indicating they are a bad team makes you look dumb.

Carry on with your I told you so attitude if you wish.

Questions for fans more knowledgeable than I:

What, if anything did LA change in the 3rd to cause the implosion?.

Or were the Hawks suffering from a case of overconfidence??.

I think that they crashed the net more and completely changed the game with that aggressiveness. It was like a switch got tripped.
The Hawks, like one of their players said, took their foot off of the gas and couldn't get going again. I also thought that our defensemen
played awful in that 3rd period.

I've seen and heard the term "dirty goal" used to describe LA's initial one last evening. The term itself seems to imply sloppy offense, which to me is somewhat of a paradox. I mean, when the opponent is spending too much time in front of your net something bad is eventually bound to happen.

And it seems LA is very proficient at hanging around areas they should not be allowed to...something Chicago needs to fix in a hurry.

Yet, there are only 4 teams that are still playing in the NHL and the Hawks are one of them. Grasp that.

Each loss you come in here and talk about how shitty they played. Yet, they've won each of the last 2 series. A few more wins and they'll be in their 3rd Cup Final in the last 5 seasons. Grasp that.

In my experiences, people who are relatively new to hockey tend to be the most prone to over-reacting after a loss in a series, and you're proving to be a pretty good example of that. I can only imagine the kind of nonsense you would've been spewing after the Hawks fell behind 3-1 to the Wings last year. A series which they came back and won.

You keep taking the Hawks at their worst moment in a series and prop that up as your assertion that the Hawks play "shitty." But what about the first two periods where they dominated play?

They had a bad period. It's happened before and it will happen again. Likely in this series. But to make a generalization about the team based on such a small sample size is a fool's errand. But one you've been rather intent on pursuing.

Crazy thing about that first goal is I thought Handzus did a real good job of tying up Williams' stick to prevent him from getting a possible shot on net. Then it hit his damn skate in went in anyway. Tough break for the Hawks, but a good play by Richards to get the puck to the net and, as you said, a nice job by Williams just to be there to make something happen. Puck can't go in the net if he isn't hanging out in front of the crease.

You expect Chicago to sweep every series?.

Each opponent requires a process, which can involve taking a few lumps at times in order to get better as a series moves forward. Chicago has a history of improving as players/coaching familiarize themselves with each new opponent.

This could take another game, so will not be surprised if they drop the next before finding their groove.

How bout this.... we all leave BearsBud to his remarks and we follow up with him when the Hawks win the Stanley Cup for a second straight year so he can explain why he is still right....
